When comparing two religions, is it wise to on the one hand quote a religious text (the Bible for- turn the other cheek- although that is not a direct quote) and then on the other hand quote posts made on f'in Yahoo answers??
I'm pretty sure you would be up in arms if in comparing Islam and Christianity, I quoted a passage from the Qu'ran about being charitible and then quoted some of the Yahoo answers posts I've seen on here from Christians talking about how "blacks" are lazy and don't deserve the aid that gets sent to Africa.

not so fast, april. Christianity is not that benign either. It's only one verse in the bible that talks about turning the other cheek vs many others that talk about suffering and death etc.
I do think islam is a more "kill the infidels" type of religion but christianity is pretty close behind

i think one doesn't need to be Christian, Isalm, or anything to know that killing because someone does not share the same beliefs is wrong.
Jesus says "turn the other cheek" and Christians are supposed to be those who follow Jesus. I know not all Christians are perfect at that- but Christians i think are learning and make a personal choice to follow Christ, and i think all individuals regardless of their religion has the personal freedom to make those choices.

God is love so true christianity is about love when all the other religions believe in hate and revenge true christians believe in forgiveness and love because we have experienced the save forgiveness by Christ forgiving us and dying for us while yet we were sinners He never condemned us. So turning the other cheek is a sign of true christianity.

Who ever brainwashed you to think of faith is non violent? go searching you, people are consistently bashing one yet another around, knocking them down or their determination in concept. All posturing for what? sure, that's what it incredibly is - posturing. I see you do it each and each of the time. I see all and sundry doing it. that is human nature, because of the fact we natrually have confidence we are greater advantageous and prefer all people might see issues the way that we do. Sacrifice the various to save the few or sacrifice the various in charge the few. that is all carried out to tutor a factor. you will get people to hearken to you or are meant to hearken to you settle for that. you will get people who say which you take a seat at your pc and whine each and each of the time settle for that too. Dont worry, The christians of earlier times have killed plenty of people who "insulted" them. or some that they just didnt like, and not in very nice ways.
