how long do you have to serve in active duty(full service) coast guard and how long for reserve if you sign up?

Yes, they shave your head when you get there and again around week 6. Minimum time they will sign you up for is 4 years active-with 3 year inactive reserve. and i believe it is 6 years for reserves.

You'll get your hair buzzed just like any other military branch. I served at a CG recruit training center. Also your enlistment may be anywhere from 2 to 4 yrs active, with 2 yrs ready reserve added on. Usually reservists go in for less time than active duty enlistments. Your hair will grow out by the end of boot unless you went in with not much hair to begin with.

I am not sure about the head shaving but as far as enlistment, that should be covered on any Coast Guard website. I was Army, so I have no clue, but it usually varies by job and the needs of the particular branch.
