WWI, which was fruitless & caused 8,500,000 deaths, brought about WW2 and the atomic bomb. Korea & Vietnam were fruitless. Now Iraq and Afganistan are also. When will mankind stop war and murder? Are we genetically unable to seek a more "humane" course for resolving conflicts amongst ourselves? Is democracy and capitalism really the right answer? Is it simply that there are now too many humans?

War has been a constant since the beginning of recorded human history and probably before that. Just look in the Bible, Koran or writing about Gilgamish. It has been as long as there have been humans. Until humans evolve away from it it will continue. Yes, I think that more humans increases the cases of war as you say. Six billion is too many people. Capitalism is better because it is more natural for people. Competitiveness and the need to make if for ourselves is part of our nature that is necessary.
Unfotunately without any competitiveness or aggression people would lose their instinct for survival and will to be. War is an unfortunate part of our instinct for survival and I think it will be a long time before we find a way to eliminate it. We cannot control people becoming aggressive and cannot allow dictators to take over the world.

Conflict is a part of life, every animal fights in one way or another, that just a fact. And humans are the ultimate animal.

To eliminate war you need to eliminate every thing that makes humans human. Love, hate, sex, lust, desire, greed, need, land, power, domination, money, gender, race, religion, sexual preference, hair color, skin color, eye color, height weight, resources, perception, imagination, ideas, thought, opinions, independence, hunger, gluttony, vice, apathy, caring, creativity, individuality, speech, art, faith, history and the list goes on and on...

People who think peace is possible do not understand what human nature is really about.

It’s like the saying, "If you put all the cars of the world in a row, front to back, all driving in a straight line going the same speed, some jackass is going to try and pass them." Humans have a need for more, for there to be peace people have to be completely happy and content with what they have, that’s impossible.

Some one will want more land, more money, more power, and they will do what is necessary to have it. And there will always be others who oppose that person. So the cycle continues.

It has nothing to do with genetics or population it has to do with humans being humans.

History is a long list of conflict and humanity showing how human it really is.

Oh! By the way you said war is fruitless? The thing you used to ask your question was forged in war. So was the plastics that make the keyboard, the internet and rapid communications you use on a daily basis, the modern appliances, medicines, and thousands of other products you probably don’t even think of. There is hardly a modern product that was not forged or perfected in war.

War is a fact of life; peace as nice as it sounds is not possible until you eliminate all Humans.

And that would take a War.

Why do you liberals believe that "world peace" is possible, it will never happen. Too many considerations to go into here, but basically, if one person wants what another person has, there will always be war.
