Are the artists referencing another artist from history? Who, why?

Could not see the first link. The second link is a portrait in the style of Egon Schiele who was an artist of historical importance but your image is pretty lame compared to his work. The distorted pose and loose painting technique remind you of Schiele but it's not very well done.
