get apricot scrub from CVS, and a very light facial moisturizer, i use Neutrogina. the apricot scrub takes all the oil off, and the cream moisturizes without making your face look like you kissed a pizza.

Mary Kay has some great products for this. They are inexpensive and last forever! They have whats called "Blemish Control Toner" it takes the oil off your face without drying up your skin. Then there is this stuff called "Oil Matifyer" You apply this before your moisturizer. That's another thing, even though you have oily skin, you still need to use a moisturizer morning and night. Mary Kay also has a great facial cleanser for teens "Velocity". I was just like you once. I had really oily skin, I'd come home from school and its like all my make-up was gone and I was left with this sick oil all over my face and neck. But I started using these products, and I've never had an oil problem since. And what's great about these is it doesn't leave you with really dry sick like your exfoliaters do. Go to MaryKay.com to look at the products yourself! Good luck! I've noticed that some people on here have said that you need to change your diet. They have proved that food has nothing to do with oily face and acne. What happens is you can get stressed out, and when you are stressed you eat comfort food, so you think that its the food that makes you break out and its not. Trust me, my brother is a scientist at the University of Utah, don't worry about your diet affecting your face because it won't!

Hi there jaynerox, There isn't alot you can do at the moment ( if you are a teenager) But in the meantime, wash your face with a mild soap a bit more often than what you would normally. Take some mild face cleanser wipes to school with you.....you can buy them in a small packet that you can keep handy in your bag. Something else that may help is your diet. Cut down on dairy products, these are said to activate the sebaecous glands which produce oil in your skin and hair.
I hope this helps you, I know what it is like to have oily skin, I did when I was a teenager. It will get alot better eventually. My skin has improved loads, but the area around my nose still tends to get a bit oily sometimes. I wish you all the best! :o)

I suffer with an oily t-zone and twice a week I make sure I exfoliate the oily areas then open up my pores by placing a warm flannel over the area - followed by a clay mask which I leave on for 5-15 mins. I then use a blemish and blackhead toner to complete the process. My skin comes up beautifully after I have done this and instantly less oily. Try and find a moisturiser that contains salicylic acid as well. Garnier do one (turquoise blue tube) which doesn't clog the pores.
I have also heard that taking evening primose oil capsules may help balance your hormones thus cutting down the amount of oil your skin is producing.
Good luck x

If you exfoliate too much it will dry out your skin, and then your body will react by producing MORE oil than normal to make up for it. Definately do not exfoliate more than once every week. Unless you are using proactiv. Proactiv face wash exfoliates, but it doesn't overdry if you follow with the toner and repairing lotion. It is the best system I have tried for acne and oily skin.
But even with this system, your face is still going to produce oil throughout the day, so you should definately try those little oil absorbing papers. Proactiv sells them too, but I got mine from victoria's secret. I like them better than powder, because powder can cake up sometimes if your skin is too oily and that's gross. The papers absorb the oil right off of your face, and you don't have to worry about anything clogging your pores!
Also, you shouldn't wash your face more than twice a day because this can overdry your skin too (which in turn makes it oilier). So you can use the papers between washings and they won't dry you out.

I have the same problem as you! it was the worst when I was in high school- all those hormones seriously. I use clean and clear face wash in the morning and then use the persa-gel to help minimize acne- I also usually wear a light layer of facial powder that helps minimize the oil (or at least the appearance of it) throughout the day I ensure that my face isn't too oily by using tissue to blot my face down, but as I have gotten older I have naturally seen a decrease int he oil on my face. I recommend that you speak with a dermatologist as soon as you can if you feel the oil situation is out of control- product wise I recommend Clean and Clear products as the best for young women.

I have had oily skin for years. The best product I've found to help with all day oil control is Daily Oil Control by Proactiv. It works beautifully! You can use it with other Proactiv products or whatever products you choose. Just put a thin layer on after washing your face, you can put moisturizer on once it's dry. It really helps throughout the entire day! Good luck! I really hope you find the product that works for you!

There are many facial products in the market today for all types of skin types, for example, normal, dry, oily, combination, etc. Cleanse your skin first, then exfoliate (do not leave the facial scrub on too long), toning comes next and finally mosturize. I have found out that exfloliating twice a week does wonders for me.
And remember to eat healthy, lots of fruits and vegetables and of course your eight glasses of water.

Which face wash/cleanser are you currently using?
Ensure it is designed for Oliy skin, and make sure you wash your face day and night. Try do the 3 steps; cleanse, tone, & moisturise
Only use our exfoliate once a week.
Which face cream do you use?
Ensure its designed for oily skin as well
When out shopping for your products, ensure its labelled 'For oily skin' it may also say 'For oily and combination skin'
Combination skin is mean you only produce oil on your forehead, nose, and chin (T-Zone).
Also look at your diet, make sure you are getting a balanced healthy diet, with plenty of water, fresh fruit and veg..

You need to moisturise. I thought that I was oily growing up and then after cosmetic training I realised that I was over Processing my face. Scrubbing it too much, washing it and drying it out. The more you dry out your face the more oils it will produce to moisturise it.

I get really oily skin.
I wash my face in the morning and evening with a cumcumber face wash,
Dont use anything strong,
and then use simple moisturizer,
you can get moisturizers for oily skin,
and spread it outwards and upwards so it gets to the pores,
and its really good,
also if your female, and use foundation, put it on after and spread it downwards so it doesn't get inside the pores.
Using moisturizer before makeup also reduces chances of spots in case anyone wanted to know.
Just make sure its spread downwards.
.xo.
