My mortgage company wants to foreclose. Due to Hurricane Karina, I lost my job and couldn't make several payments. They are asking for $5,000 to bring me current, but I can't get a loan as my credit isn't all that great. Where can I get help with my credit? Please help someone!!!

Call your loan servicer and tell them you don't have $5,000 but you want to keep your home and you want to work with them. Have them create a forebearance plan for you to keep your property out of foreclosure. You have to be working and you have to adheare to the terms of the agreement. That will get you paid up-to-date. If you do not pay all the payments on time and in full, your loan servicer will immediately foreclose.

Talk to a lawyer that can help with the disaster issue. You may have special privelidges because of the hurricane. I know there is help out there..get great advise so your credit isn't messed with.

there are some companies that can buy your property in as little as a week usually, i'm sure you could make an arrangement with them to stay in your house and when you get back on your feet buy it back. from them, BUT be very careful with that as a lot of scams are pulled in this type of situation
