Welll,,if you think you love someone and then let them go then I would say it is not true love or you wouldn't have let them go.
I never let someone go that I truly loved either.

That whole saying of "if you love something, let it go, if it returns to you, then its true love" is a joke if you ask me. I don't believe it, if you really care about something, you shouldn't just let it go in the first place, fight for it, do whatever you can so atleast in the end you don't have to feel the what ifs or regret not doing all that you could.
With that being said, sometimes it may be best if you do let go of someone for the sake of them, but only if you will just hurt them more by not letting them go.

Perhaps it is necessary to let go if the feelings were not returned. If you feel he didnt love you perhaps it is best to let go and see if he may miss you and then if he returns you will know it is true love. Believe me, this has happened to me. I had a casual boyfriend and we had a fight. I tried apologising but he seemed to be turned off. I waited some time and sent him a beautiful text telling him that I think I was falling inlove with him but that maybe he didnt want that etc so I said my goodbye and wished him the very best. Two days later he called me, we saw ea other soon after that and he told me he wants to be my boyfriend - wow - amazing - I didnt expect this, maybe it will be what happens to you or if it doesnt, dont worry because you are sensible enough to realise that someone has to return love for it to grow. I am sure you will find someone soon enough if this doesnt work out for you. Good Luck and God Bless.

Yes! Sometimes the girl doesn't know to do this. If a girl starts backing away, I get away fast. Of course it's love because it requires tolerating pain in order to make the right move for both of us. Unloving would be to use power to force oneself on someone, a very slimy thing to do.

love is true in ur own mind but why did u leave that person go? i have left 2 girls go that i truely love and was very hurt but at the same time i was being hurt in the relationship and that sux worse. love is a team effort if it is disresptful then let go cause ur the one who gets hurt the most

only if you *know* you're not good for the person.
and you can only know if you talk to the person about it.
Don't make any noble gestures for some silly reason.
People who truly love someone will fight to death for the person. They are willing to go through hell during really bad periods of _bad_ relationships or marriages because they really truly love the person.

yep i let my best guy friend go because loving him would probably ruin the relationship... never found out if he felt the same and i regret it all the time... but what can you do? best of luck to you and the one you loved

sadly..yes...i had a chance with her, but i didnt tell her that i liked her, so this other guy came, and took her, and now their deeply in love, and im glad for them...i truely am...now i have a person of my own that i love very much...and no i dont wish it could of been the other girl
