guardasil.. not sure if i spelled it right lol and i'm a nurse.. you should 100% get this vaccine! now! It is a vaccine that protects you from getting certain types of HPV (genital warts) a virus that can cause Cervical Cancer among other cancers. Studies show that almost every sexually active woman is exposed to this virus in their lifetime, but most can fight it off with their immune system. About 60% of college women students have HPV, so you can see why it is so important to get the vaccine now. Another thing is most men don't have any symptoms at all so they can spread this disease from girl to girl and not even know. Hope this helps!

I would NOT rush out and get this vaccine. It's way too new and I think it gives people a false sense of security. Yes, HPV *may* contribute to a risk for cervical cancer BUT they don't really know what causes cancers. So if you got the vaccine you may have a different cervical caner risk they don't know about and you could get it anyway. Also when any drug or vaccine is new they do not have all the side effects under control yet. Look at how many new drugs have been recalled, discontinued or have new dire health warnings. I think it's another way the pharmaceuticals are trying to make a killing by scaring a lot of people into buying their new and very expensive drug to pay for the research they're trying to justify. Wait a but and see what happens before getting it.
