Miracles?....mmm David Copperfield or Blaine would probably be considered godly back the in day too, but they are merely two-bits magicians...
Why do so many people believe the word of one man (who with today's knowledge would probably be considered schizophrenic)?

There is no telling of what his true message was, the books weren't written until several centuries after his death. And most of what they call the word of Jesus today, is just sick twisted crap!

Could have been because

1. He raised Lazarus from the dead, after he had been buried for three days. Top that David Copperfield.
2. He fulfilled hundreds of old testament prophecies in a single day of his life.
3. His words and wisdom have survived centuries of criticism of venomous people.
4. He, His lifestyle, His words have touched more lives and gave more hope than any human being before or after.

IF YOU READ ALL OF THAT YOU UNDERSTAND---OR ARE YOU JUST LOOKING FOR AGREEMENT.

It is because a whole bunch of Old Testament Prophets spoke of Jesus life, death, and resurrection, hundreds of years before it all happened. The things that happened to Jesus verified that what the prophets said was right. And who did they say he was, the long awaited Messiah that the Jews had been waiting for. So why did the Jews crucify him? Because Jesus wasn't going to do what the Jews hoped he was going to do as in establish an earthly kingdom that would take power from the Romans. Jesus did not going around saying, "I am God's Son. I am the Messiah. " When Jesus was baptized God himself said who he was when the voice from heaven said, "This is my son, with him I am well pleased." Repeatedly in scripture Jesus asks those around him, most of the time it is his disciples, "Who do you say that I am. " People in his time believed that he was the Messiah because of all they had seen and heard. Not from Jesus lips or through someone elses eyes. They were able to see for themselves the evidence of who he was.

Dahlia,
HE was able to not only perform MANY Miracles that no one else could do. HE also met the requirements of the Old Testament Scriptures that were necessary by Jewish Law. HIS family Linage and HIS message were just the tip of the iceburg. HE also arose from the dead and met with hundreds of people during the 40 days that HE walked the earth prior to HIS ascension into heaven. HIS ascension was also witnessed by a number of people. Why do you ask? Have a great week!
Thanks,
Eds

EDIT:
Luci,
The last book of the Bible was written about 100 AD which was less than 70 years after HIS death, burial, resurrection, and ascension. The other books were written prior to that by HIS Apostles who were all brutally killed for following HIM. What is your point? They are all GOD Inspired.

Jesus never claimed to be the son of God. The Only places you will find that are when authors of the gospels, or other people besides Jesus in the gospels, refer to him as the son of God. Jesus never claimed to be divine. In fact, if you read the gospels, he actually specifically points out otherwise. Christianity is based on the words of scribes and theologians, not those of the Messiah.

Man is in an illusion. He believes in a fancy which never happened. Maybe there was a good man called jesus. But all this God and the rubbish are false. Unfortunately people are blind and brainwashed frm birth. They never want to look at truth.

So many people believe the word of one man because tradition has ingrained it in them to do so.

Each person here vigorously defending the word of the Bible - go back and really EXAMINE what you read. And take into account the times the events took place in.

The Bible is a BOOK written by human beings, translated into various languages by human beings, edited by human beings, etc.

Jesus was indeed a man. A MORTAL man.

If more followers of the Bible really processed what they read in the Bible instead of just taking it at face value, maybe so many people wouldn't be afraid of defying ancient tradition and employing some logic in their way of thinking.

You're comparing Jesus with two illusionists. They perform illusion and trickery, What Jesus did and said was quite real, not illusion.
