You know, when you put your picture right next to a person's picture so that you'll look like you're taking a picture with them?

Use select and paste tool in Photoshop.

First things first, get a good image editor. I recommend GIMP or GIMPSHOP its free, Google for it, GIMPSHOP is just gimp but made so that you can follow photoshop tutorials.

It has something similar to what you are doing, merging to pictures, putting only the part you want in it.

you require advanced software for this, but,if you have got two snaps of same dimensions ,depth and resolutions, you may create some what nearer to your option,though it might not be so perfect.you can use photo editor or power point.however, it is not so easy and perfect ,without special software.

Adobe photoshop CS 8.0 is great for doing this kind of thing.

Adobe photoshop any version will help you.
You get layers which u can easily edit.
