Well, picture an hourglass, skinny in the middle and larger at each end.
So you would measure your bustline, your natural waistline and your hips. To have an hourglass shape your bust and hip measurement would have to be the same and the waist approximately 10 inches less than those measurements.

They say that the perfect meassurements is when the bust and hip area are equal with the waist 10 inches smaller than that. But look in the mirror...it's easy to tell if you resemble a coke bottle.

I don't know if there is a specific size. If you have large breasts, a small waist and huge hips (which are roughly the same size as your breasts) then you've got an hourglass figure.

hourglass shape just means your chest and hips are both wider than your waiste, and are fairly close to the same dimensions...with the hips being slightly larger (usually but not always). measure the biggest part of your chest and the biggest par of your hips and then the part of your waise that is about belly-button level. if the first two are both bigger then the third, you are hourglassish.

You can tell by just looking at yourself in the mirror. Your hips are noticeably wider than your waist and about the same width as your shoulders

I think what you do is measure your waist and your hips. If you are wider in your waist then you are more apple shape. If you tend to gain most of your weight in your lower half then you are pear shaped.

Traditionally, it's big boobs, a thin waist and curvy hips......your sillhouette should look like an hourglass.
