A couple of months ago in a speech George Bush claimed the US went to war in Iraq because the US couldn't allow Saddam to have a weapon of economic destruction!
ie, OIL
To me that sounds like the US didn't want to trade on a level playing field so they went to war with Iraq because Iraq had more profitable assets!
Did Bush let the cat out of the bag with this statement?

Yes, I think he did. Good listening on your part! Saddam wanted to trade oil with the euro, not dollars. That would have dropped our dollar considerably. Wait til the Chinese want to cash in....

It could mean a number of things. Essentially, it means people with power who applies such power in a manner not conducive to world peace, prosperity and the creation of wealth for all. Take the instance of dictators, where idiots govern a country with their own personal interests paramount to that of the people and even the world at large. They all succeed(ed) in destroying their own countries, but the world leaders cannot stand by idly and see this economic suicide detrimentally effect other powers. This lead to wars, such as Bush and Iraq, only, Bush made an error of judgement in identifying the actual cause for his invasion, as weapons of mass destruction, when, in fact, oil was the motivating factor.

A weapon of economic mass destruction can be anything that destroys the economy of the country it is directed at on a massive scale.
And America invaded Iraq to liberate its people from Saddam, not to take oil.

the real war of the earth is actualy economic warfare, bush means the Nations need oil, and most of that is in the middle east, it can be used by denying it to the nations staving the wheels of industry, therefore wrecking the economy, Europe has done this to britain in a differnt way, our car workers and truck biulders have been defeated by europs motor industry, scausing economic collapse of the motor ind, economic warfare.
