Deep sky should change his name to Deep Sh1t.

ok so, again last time i checked there are only translations from a dead language into english.
and secondly, the quran promotes polygamy. 4:3 (and 4 in general) clearly say that it is GOOD to marry "many orphans" especally if ou think you can be a good husband. If you think you can;t be a good husband then only marry one so that less people suffer under you.
i've read some commentaries saying that mohammed was only writing this so that the people/orphans would be amrried then thus have a house and some place to stay, thus polygmy would be ok because it would be hospitable. but then again dosn;t that defeat the whole process of saying that hte quran still is holy and still applies today?
p.s. there is a final version-- it's just in greek and hebrew... so if you want to learn those languages that's fine with me. i however do not have the mental capasity to become fluent in a dead language. By the same token, arn't there many translations of the quran in english? if not, then dosn;t that make you wonder if the translations are accurate?

Quran has no "version" because it would never allow for it. When they found the variant scrolls at the mosque in Yemen, they burned them. If you can get a copy of the Atlantic Monthy Janurary 1999, Toby Lester mentiones the variant readings.
Besides, not to mention the caliphate under Uthman, burned all copies of the Qu'ran before him.
The final version of the bible is already out their my freind. Truth by definition is exclusive.Insha'allah you'll read it.

Truth is in all religions; you only need to know where to look for it.
To my knowledge, Christianity has been through much more institutionalism and internal schism than has Islam. Given a history similar to Christianity, Islam probably would have promoted far more politically-minded versions. Furthermore, Arabic is a living language, and as such the versions are unneeded linguistically, whereas the Bible has been through dozens of translations for linguistic purposes as well.

Any religion with a connection to God would obviously still be communicating, no? Recieving prophesy and reflecting the most accrate version of God's word in whatever the current vernacular was?
So do you REALLY think that the total lack of any kind of Godly communication is a STRENGTH? Maybe it's a sign that there was never any connection there for you to begin with, eh?

There are different translations of the Bible. The original was written in Hebrew (the "Old Testament" or Hebrew scriptures) and Greek (the New Testament.)
I have seen different translations of the Quran too.
In English we often refer to the different translations as "versions," but they are all translated from the same original.

language is always changing and although the message is the same words change and sometimes revising the wording gives better understanding as to the message being conveyed. There will never be a final version as long as we change the language.

the excellent version of the Bible became "on the industry" approximately 4 hundred years until now the Qur'an. it continues to be in existence and in use as we talk. even with the undeniable fact that in view that's written in 3 languages that are no longer any further in use as we talk, there are multiple translations of the e book obtainable. All translation are produced from early Greek, Hebrew and Aramiac texts. by way of fact any language adjustments with time, a translation must be as much as date to experience mirror the adjustments - no longer in the unique textual content fabric - yet in the language that's translated into. additionally, distinctive variations exist for various usages. case in point, there are variations that are very strict, word for word translations. yet by way of version and Greek/Hebrew grammar and English grammar, they are in a position to be complicated to understand. So there are additionally variations designed for extra handy clarity. those will usually incorporate footnotes to reference the "stricter" wording. There are variations designed for people who use English as their 2nd language, and additionally they have a extra constrained vocabulary, So those variations are accomplished with easier words and shorter sentences to lead them to extra handy to understand. no longer understanding the unique language of the Qur'an, when I examine it, I could count on English "variations" of it. As there are multiple English Qur'ans obtainable, does that recommend that the Qur'an isn't in very final type? or maybe in the unique language, I even have are available in the time of 12 distinctive respected approved recitations of the Qur'an. So it is not any longer universally the comparable. If the existence of multiple English variations and multiple recitations of the Qur'an would not invalidate it, so the existence of multiple variations of the Bible would not invalidate the Bible. like the variations of the Qur'an, all the variations of the Bible are based to the comparable texts in the unique language.
