well im thinking of hooking up a boss BLX3500M with two kicker 12" l7.
is the amp just going to crap out on me in the short or long run. Never heard of them seems to have great specs though. Maybe almost too good
Any opinions will be taken and any suggestions would be great.
Amp's specs are:
Max Power : 3500W
RMS Power, 4 OHM @ 0.01% THD: 1200Wx1
RMS Power, 2 OHM: 1700Wx1
RMS Power, 1 OHM: 2000Wx1
Frequency Response: 9Hz-250kHz
Signal-to-Noise Ratio: >100dB
Channel Separation: >90dB
Low Pass Crossover: 45Hz-100Hz
High Pass Crossover: 120Hz-720Hz
Bass Boost: 0 -/+ 19dB
Bass Boost Frequency: 45Hz-100Hz

SUBS SPECS:
06S12L72 12" solobaric
Dual 2 ohm voice coils
1500 watts max power handling
750 Watts RMS power handling
87.4 DB sensitivity
20 – 100 K frequency response
6 13/16" mounting depth
11 3/16" cut out diameter

I totalled it up to be exactly $570 after shipping & every thing $370 for the subs together and $200 for amp. Will it bang?

it'll pound but wont sound very good. and that amp probably wont last very long, considering Boss audio is a poor brand. but yes, for the time being it will pound.

good luck

boss audio makes terrible stuff.

i personally suggest spending a bit more and trying to find a phoenix gold amp. theyre reasonably priced and very nice. The Xenon 1200.1 would be a good match. While its stats arent as "good" as the boss, itll perform far far better, and its truely 1 ohm stable. its more than enough power for what you need.

And i also dont personally like the L7s. they sound like crap (square woofers will never be as stiff, therefore sound worse). I would invest in a JL W7. they sound great and pound just as hard. Theyre not the cheapest, but totally worth it. THe nice thing about spending a bit more and getting nice, quality stuff is that you wont have the urge to replace it all the time. a single 12W7 will hold just as much power (JL is VERY conservative with their subs, due to them being SQ oriented) as the l7s.

and remember that for that much power you really should get a 1.5 or so farad capacitor.

dont do it, boss is junk dude you can get good amps for good prices at dandbsales.com, and cardiscountstereos.com.lanzar is a good cheap amp and power acoustik, and audio pipe also you want a 2 channel amp somewhere around 3000 watts max. you can probably find those subs cheaper on the second website also.these two sites for a fact only sell new merchandise (not used or refurbished).so thats something you wanna look for also.
