i was talking to my crush who "used to like me, but denies having feelings for me now because of reasons" and after talking for a while he said he told me "i have to go finish chemistry and review for english but i will talk to you later"

does that mean he intends to speak with me later, or its just a way of saying goodbye?

What are the "reasons" and does he usually tell you he will talk to you later but doesn't. If there is a next time why don't you brake off the conversation for something that will keep his mind wanting to know more about so that another conversation is inevitable
