My St. Bernard(sp) has been throwing up since 9:00pm Eastern Time. My parents have taken her to the vet, they are there now. But can anyone tell me what the cause of this could be?
She first threw up about 4 times on Wednesday, then we haven't seen her throw up anything since last night (sunday evening). Not sure if she was eating her throw up and and that is why we didn't see or it what.
We are thinking she is so thin because maybe she has been throwing up since wednesday. She is unable to keep anything down. She will binge eat so much food, then drink lots of water and throw it up. After she throws that up she drank more water and threw up, for 2 hours she continued to drink almost a gallon of water and then throw it up over an dover agian until no more peices of food are in her throw up, it's nothin but water now.
What are the symptom of a dog when it's stomach gets inside out?

My dog is 6 years old. She doesn't have diarea or anything like that. She can't even keep water down. She throws it up 5 min after she drinks it.

I have two veterinarians in my family so I know a little about this type of thing. First, how old is your dog and is he or she up to date on his or her shots? If not, excessive throwing up could be a cause of parvovirus (especially if your dog is very young). The vet can determine this through a blood test. Usually with parvo, the dog also has diarrhea.

Also, my sister always says that if your dog is throwing up, you should keep him or her off of food (BE SURE TO GIVE WATER STILL) for 24 hours.

Hope your dog gets well soon!

Right now like a million brands of dog food have been recalled because they are causing serious kidney problems, google this or look on sites like msn.com for the news stories and see if the dog food you use is on the list. Good luck.

There has been a recall on Dog food and I would check out if the dog food you are giving your dog is on the list. because that is one of the syptoms. Go to www.menufoods.com and it will show a list of Dog food that has been recalled.

I wonder if you have heard of the big recall on several brands of Dog food on the east coast? you should search that news story to see if your brand is one of them. some dogs have died already. I dont want to scare you, but thought you should know.
