i have the same problem with lack of goin to school and actually doing my work ...she needs to deal the consequnces of not doin the work herself ....if she isnt taking ur advice and tryin to improve she will learn it the hard way like i did and fall behind and watch her friends as well as everyone around her gettin and goin places and bettering themselves while shes being left out and gettin further n further off track ....she will come to a realzation at her own time like i did! just keep giving her facts about the absence of education and money problems n things that invlove school or studying ......get her to take things in her own prepective and have her think about what she wants out of life and what it takes to get there! hoep this helped

It sounds like insecurity: she doesn't feel good about it and would rather react badly and avoid the whole thing. This is pretty common, unfortunately. As her sister, you might be the wrong one to motivate her because people have a way of comparing themselves to their siblings, and it might make her feel like she's supposed to be you instead of herself. The people most likely to nudge her in the right direction are friends or someone else she wants approval from. Or maybe if you find out about some goal she'd like to work towards. She might not realize this for years, though...

hello, i have a similar problem... my case is a lack of motivation to work... i guess it's because i am having a hard time accepting my life at present... like there's no more purpose, no goals, no aims, no dreams... i wish someone could help me get to the root of my problem and settle this once and for all... i believe your sis wants help, but is pretty certain that it's uncurable...
i'm living my life still, but i'm really negative to a lot of things in life... sigh... gd for you for helping your sis :D

i think maybe she feels that it is unnecessary to study for sumthing she won't be using in life?
or maybe bring up that wat she is studying for will help her in the career she wishes to pursue.
an effective way i studied for finals was with a friend and even tho we fooled around a lot, we still got a lot of studying done.
good luck! i hope she ends up liking to study becuz it can be fun =]
