I just met a new guy that I really like. He sent me a link to listen to his band...I think it's really lame. But, I really like this guy and I want to get to know him better. Do I tell a white lie? Do I barely say anything about the band besides a simple, "I'm impressed!" and ask some questions to show interest? What is the best way to handle this? I don't want to hurt his feelings by being too avoidant.

If you want the relationship to ever mean anything, keep it honest. There may be another band in his future.

See what other people besides yourself think. If everyone feels the same as you, tell him and offer suggestions on how to improve the band.

You could always tell him it sounds like he's talented but the music just isn't for you and make him a cd of stuff you really like. Compare why you like them and he likes what he plays.

If you really like the guy then be his number one fan. The music shouldn't matter.
