Istanbul (Byzantium/Constantinople) has been a world class city for almost two millenia.

I think they both have great chances to become among World's most advanced cities. You're right, the development of both is rapid, especially it's noticeable in Ankara (Istanbul is simply to huge to spot sudden changes and it's a city of contrasts). Both of them have been world-class cities for a while, in my opinion. And both are very cosmopolitan, especially Istanbul.

In my opinion it's the government change from extremist secular to moderately secular, which gave Turks more freedom, and cut the inflation from almost 90% in Çiller time to 8% after Erdoğan took over. Of course greater liberty and less inflation also mean more foreign investors and also more Turkish businessmen decide to invest in their own country. A stable economy and pro-European changes in terms of liberty (the Kurdish question) mean greater security for investors. Despite Europe's prejudices of everything that comes with an Islamic foresign, the new government has gained more trust from EU than any government before.

Another contributing factor is also the character and attitude of Turks: they're hard-working and their thinking is progress-oriented. I think Turkey is more developed than so (self-) praised Malaysia or Jordan or even Brunei whose sole source of income is oil but has very poor economy management. I've been to all of them and I've lived in Turkey and Malaysia.

I wouldn't be surprised if they become advanced cities even before 2020, let's say like 2015...

I dont belive that it's a problem of time , like 2020 or 2015 .
All big cities have a lot of problems in the world . For solve these you need money and a good team.
I think in 2020 pollution, energy and traffic ( cars , air crafts ) will still be problem for the big cities.

The Philippines can develop into wealthy and flow faraway from third international prestige if the leaders social gathering and unite in a joint attempt somewhat of again biting one yet another. they could make a wakeful attempt to rid themselves of the Muslim terrorists, NPA and drug sellers. The knowledgeable ones could proceed to be in the Philippines and artwork in the route of creating it a more advantageous powerful position somewhat of leaving and taking their understanding to a distinct united states. Then. returning and retiring in the Philippines and seem down on the a lot less fortunate The Catholic church could stay out of politics and the newspapers could proceed to be impartial.

BEcause of the political reasons, adn right after President Bush was elected adn started this war, Turkey becamse plitically a fancy place in the area. If you go to Dubai and other coutnries in that area, life is much more fancier as well! I am wondering if Turkey will die after the war on that area is over! I travele a lot on that area and i rather go to Dubai and other more develped adn more turistic then TUrkey. Turkey in my view is just a temporary thing because of all the wars tha tis happening in that area. After the war the importance of Turkey can collaps in my pesonal opinion and will stop iits big booming. If you open a business you can ot make a lot of profits there, every thing seems great but living there, I rather not do it but just go visit there like any other country around the world! By the way Turkey is a muslim country, why they had to change their alphabets to greec? They do hate armenian and greecs right? The words are still translated in arabic words! Why they have to change their identity from some thing they are to some thing they are not!
