People like me use to be tourchered because we didnt believe in god, or believed in magic. Jesus died and came alive again, umm yea that is MAGIC people and news flash magic is not real! Noah couldnt of brought 2 of every animal on a boat because the animals would have been eating each other! umm MAGIC! Oh and one more thing a virgin cant give birth unless she ahs surgery or some how "magicly" she got pregnate. So that is why I dont believe in god.

So you people who keep asking me why, well this is why and i know there are many people out there who are just like me and choose to believe what we actually have proof of and not some man made religon. When we die were going to rot in the ground people and thats the truth.

I don't believe either for many of the same reasons as you stated above; the virgin thing doesn't work for me, the noah thing sounds so absurd it is on the verge of funny and the only proof of Jesus's resurrection is the fact that his body was missing from a tomb (I won't even go there) just to name a few.
I do not feel like I have to explain myself to others about it though. But I think alot of people keep asking because they do not understand why we simply cannot just have faith. You have to be able to see both sides of it.

Personally I understand where the you just have to have faith thing comes in, its easier just to have faith, not to question things, I think its harder not to have faith.

What Christians and all other religions do not seem to understand about us "non" believers is that we have had to litterally give up all we have ever known or was taught in order to seek our answers. We have to question authority, fear the unknown and go against the masses. This is not an easy task. It takes some of us years to even admit we are even atheist and some of us have never told another family member because its just easier not to and just go with the flow.

We were all once part of some religion or other (or at least alot of us were) and we have had to litterally win the battle over what we truly believe in versus what we were taught to and feared we should beleive.

I used to worry that I would be stricken down just for saying it, this was an irrational fear brough on by religion itself and not reality. Fear of eternal damnation is a pretty scary thing and worse the fear of never getting what was due to me in the end of life. I no longer have these fears but I do understand People who are confused as I have been there.

Every religion has the ULTIMATE pay off: heaven, immortality, etc. Sure I want some of that, but I do believe that is what is coming, no not really and I had to battle with that as well. I finally am not battling with any of it because I can now just live my life in peace knowing that all I have is the time Im here I might as well make the best use of it I can.

Do you honestly think religion would even exist if thier was no ultimate pay off? Think about it this way, if you were told do this your whole life, act this certain way and in the end you die and nothing more, what would be the sense? Would you follow that religion to begin with or just say what the heck the end result is the same anyway?

You sound angry and I wonder where your anger lies, It isnt easy to convince people they are wrong, remember they still fear those same things we all did. Try to help them, don't let anger misguide you, some of them are just confused and need your help to break free of the chains that bind them.

God is, and always has been. The details you ask for are really none of our business. As far as a virgin not being able to have a child without some means of insemination, God can do as He sees fit. He can create as He decides to. While we are at it, it is possible, and has happened, albeit rarely, that a woman can self fertilize. Look it up, I think you'll be amazed. Jesus was raised from the dead. Not just the Bible says so, secular historians of the day say so. Noah could have had 2 of every animal on the Ark. If they were kept apart, they would not be able to eat each other. People like you were tortured because the other people did not know any better, and definitely were not aware of the commands of God towards unbelievers. No, I do not believe in magic. There is sufficient evidence in the world around us for me to believe that God does exist, as well as very secular sources that firmly agree with the Bible whether they want to or not. I think you are a bit narrow minded, but that is your choice. Since you can't allow yourself to believe in God, then I guess electricity is magic? Can you explain it? What about magnetism? Is that magic? What kind of force is it? If you can't explain it, why do you believe in it, or use it?

Magic the word of the day apparently, you live your life how? believing in something that the chances of it happening are lie what multitrillion to one, that would be extremely magical, the world being created how? Some big ball existing in the middle of nowhere somehow has all of the matter in the universe inside of it that explodes and created an almost infinite universe, where did that bloody ball come from?

Sometimes i find it mind boggling what people will be willing to believe just to reject God, although some of them do not know what they are doing. Then some of them go onto the internet to mock those who have more to look forward to than what? emptyness eternal? or is it a firey pit

I believe you are misinformed here. The word is not magic, but Miracle. God can do anything, He is God. Miracles happen all the time, but some people miss or dismiss them as coincidences --their loss. No one created God, God is creator. We will never have all the answers until we get to Heaven and ask God. I'm sorry you won't get the chance if you are an atheist. And IF you read the Bible, Noah didn't JUST bring 2 of each animal on the ark, but 7 of every clean animal and 2 of every unclean animal and 7 of every kind of bird. You have uneducated reasons listed for not believing in God -- I'm sorry for you when you end up in the lake of burning fire. The "But I didn't know" or "oops, I guess I was wrong" won't change your judgement. Even here on this forum you have the chance to understand by asking. But, this is a God given choice and you seem to have made up your mind. Don't let your limitations (we all have) keep you from eternity with Our Loving Father and His Son in Heaven. Let go and let God!

Only the Perfect God can do anything He wants any time any where...since He created physicis laws we knows He can change these laws to God's law which is:

You have a few choices.
You could stay away from these pages and live your life as you see fit and never ever have to defend your lifestyle choice again.
You could do what we other atheists do - provide mature responses to the ramblings of the deluded and leave it at that. Every time an atheist responds with intelligence, the seed of doubt is planted in someone's mind that the supernatural and paranormal entity that they are convinced is out there really isn't - at all - ever - never.
You and I should know by now that all gods are fabricated by man. All the evidence suggests that the bible is a collection of nonsense and half-truths - and lies.
Anyone with a brain cell that works should be dumping the god concept at around the age of 12 and stepping up to the plate as a full-blown atheist from the age of 15 or so. I did it 53 years ago.
I also advise you to go to www.godisimaginary.com and to read all that is there. It will help you to solidify your feelings.
It will also help you to now that you are not alone. There are millions of atheists and our numbers are growing also. Just type 'atheism' into any search engine and allocate many hours to some interesting reading. Enjoy.

I not against your opinion, sister, but the reason why I believe God exist is because of faith. Do you ever play the lottery expecting to lose? No, because you have faith that your going to win big. Have you ever searched for a lightswitch in the dark? That's what faith is. How can you truly love something or someone great if it's seen or used with easy access. You would become cushioned, jealous, tired, or just ignorant towards someone of great power. In the end, I would feel much better knowing that I strived to seek God by my dedication and worship than to not believing at all and giving up on salvation. It is better to "try and fail" than to "fail to try" and that's whats not being discuss today. You have your reasons and there's nothing wrong with that. If you believe or don't believe, it your decision. I pray that you make the right decisions in life (whatever that may be in your case) and stay encouraged.

Heh, you've been razzed too long haven't you? lol

"Why do you believe that god DOES exist?"
He revealed Himself to me after I trusted Him-- which coincides with what He requires. Trust. So the experience aligned with the text, and the Spirit. I know that people don't want to believe that, but if it happened to you, you wouldn' care what other people thought.

"If god created us who created god. "
God is the only being that wasn't created. That's how I understand it.

"Right he has always existed or he is a spirt."
No, not just Spirit. He always existed though.

" Then before earth existed where was god?"
Doing anything and being anywhere He created. It's His nature to create. That's why I have my issues with creationists. I believe the 'Gap Theory of Genesis 1:1 - 1:2'.
If you don't know about that, please fell free to Google it.

" Do you believe in magic? "
I believe in the ability for certain things to make things happen that could be called 'magic'. It's kind of like my stance on ghosts. They may be understiood as ghosts, but what they really are is something else, in my opinion and experience.

"People like me use to be tourchered because we didnt believe in god, or believed in magic. "
People like me used to be tortured for what I believe. People that believe like I believe are still being persecuted to this day, especially in China, Malaysia, Indonesia, and countries that are formed within the frame of Islamic Law.

"Jesus died and came alive again, umm yea that is MAGIC people and news flash magic is not real!"
The God of Impossibiblities is one of the names of God from the Old Testament. Once again, it can be something descirbed as magic, but the term 'magic' is typically used in other applications, and Illusionist's tricks for example. One must accept that God can do things we don't know how to do. We do not have the power or the knowledge. I find to call it impossible is presumptuous.

"Noah couldnt of brought 2 of every animal on a boat because the animals would have been eating each other! umm MAGIC!"
It could be described as magic, I'll repeat. But God changes many things in the Old Testament, including people's perceptions. Perhaps the ancients weren't tht far off in worshipping deities, after having the examples of the Israelites as a proof. But they, even in the face of daily miracles didn't believe. It is a miracle that Judahism still exists today in the face of all the persecutions that evolved against them over all these years-- to couple with that their thendencies NOT to believe in the God that performs those miracles. By reading the Old Testament, one might notice that the tendencies of the Hebrews was to wander away from their own religion. Not adhere to it. That is true even to this day.

"Oh and one more thing a virgin cant give birth unless she ahs surgery or some how "magicly" she got pregnate."
Unless there is a God, I might add. If it's true, then that virgin got pregnant in just the way the Bible explains it. You might have forgotten to make that assumption along with your other ones.

I believe in God because the evidence I have come across supports it. No one has come up with a theory to prove that Christ never rose from the dead that is feasible based on what we know about that time period.

The transcription methods used by the Hebrews was also something I found awe-inspiring.

As far as magic goes, I'm not sure what you mean because as far as I can tell, cages could be called magic.

What is it when someone mysteriously recovers from a fatal illness? When someone speaks in a language they've never even heard before is that magic? What about someone's malignant tumor disappearing from their body?

How can such things be possible if the supernatural doesn't exist/ is impossible?

As far as knowing where God was before time, I can't know because one can only know what a superior being chooses to reveal about "itself."

Sick of answering the question? You posted it didn't you? Didn't you want answers? You're saying you don't believe in God and people are asking why not? And stating their point of view. What's wrong with that? If you don't believe that God created the world, you don't believe in the "big bang" you don't believe in evolution, etc. I'll ask you. Where did all things come from? How? Why? By whom? God is not limited by time and space. Before the creation of earth, God was in the heavenly realm. Heaven-not earth. Understand? I think Noah knew (and was God informed) that the animals would need to eat. They had enough food. I'm sure they thought of that one. God WAS NOT CREATED. God did the CREATING. It had to start somewhere and by someone. Right? Evolution can't really explain how all things came into being. The Bible, Christianity can. I can look around and see a sunset, trees, animals, ocean/ocean waves, diverse land-deserts to ice caps, mountains to planes, birds to fish....I see the hand of God all around me. I see God in the Bible in the person of Jesus. The Bible. eastern history, even other religions account for Jesus. Christianity knows Jesus as the savior of all of us through his death and resurrection. It's faith. Holy Jesus, as God and man died to forgive our sins. Jesus grave is empty. He defeated death and offers us eternal life in Heaven.Jesus /God loves us. Jesus sacraficed His life for us. But still people don't accept Him. With all the evidence of the reality of Jesus and life itself is why I believe that God does exist. It COSTS you nothing to accept and believe in God and you have everything to GAIN. CHRISTIANS were TORTURED because they DID BELIEVE in God. Jesus Himself was killed, 10 of the 12 diciples were tortured and killed. just because thet had faith ib God and not because they broke the law.Read the Bible, go to Church and see I'm telling the truth. Christians are still persecuted. Things like..no religious Christian public displays, religion not taught in public school, prayer not allowed in some places, abortion and gay marriage legalized, taking "In God We Trust" and "One Nation Under God" out of our mottos etc. Ever hear degrading religous jokes? God isn't majic, He's almighty. Read the Christmas story in the Bible. The Holy Sprit impregnated Mary God can do miracles, it's not majic..I can't explain each and everything about God just like you can't explain each and everything about your own body-how and why everything works as it does. Hope this helps.
