One of my colleagues set me up to meet this guy. We are both in similar professions, but I'm not sure what else to talk about. We are going to meet after work for dinner. What should I wear? What should I say?

since you're both professionals wear something casual but not too informal. A simple blouse and a not-so-short skirt. wear step-ins with a medium heels. Or you could wear silk pants. Talk about something that's common between the two of you. If you have no ideas try talking about work. But talking about sports, entertainment current news can also be effective. Avoid silent moments because it could bore both of you. Don't laugh too loud and keep your answers short but specific. Don't talk when your mouth is full.= ) and don't forget to say "thank you" or "i had a good time".

How can you accept a date without trying to find out the stuff that reallly matters--where is he from, what is his family like, where did he go to school, where did he grow up---sports and hobbies are important, too. investigate this stuff--surely someone must know something about your date. Talk the little pleasantries and then get on to the life and philosophy of life stuff--see if you share common beliefs in life and in people--come on---use imagination---Dress as appropriately as you can for a first date--where are you going and how do you want to be perceived??? Nice girl, loose girl,, hottie???Just never be misleading or phony on a date--you could be asking for trouble. keep it all fun and smiles for a while. Good luck

Wear a simple dress, not a lot of makeup. Suits are generally not sexy. Do NOT ask the following questions: Where do you live? Why are you single? Those are boring and they feel like you want to know how much money he makes and if there's something wrong with him. Ask him how he got into his career and ask him about what he dreams of being/doing in the future. Men like good listeners, but you should also tell him what you dream of doing.

On our First Date, my Wife and I talked about our Hobie's, and Travels. Movies we liked, and Music. Our dress was semi casual, and neat. She is elegant in what ever she has, but I need all The help I can get, but thing's worked out. ( I almost forgot, I brought a Bouquet of Spring Flowers with me when I picked her up).

Keep the conversation light. Ask him about where he lives, where he's from, his family. Try to get him to talk about his favorite subject...himself! Also, if he's any good at dating he'll try to get you to talk about yourself too. It would be great if on the first date you could find some things in common.

Wear something that looks good and you feel comfortable in it. Then find out what interests him, and see if there are any common interests between you--then talk about that.

Talk about what you know. Ask questions based on what you think is important to you. Let him talk and ask questions too. I would wear something that compliments where you are going to eat.
