I worked with this girl 2 summers ago and I had a huge crush on her and I regret not asking her out. I was planning on asking her out last summer but she didn't work there anymore. I saw her a couple times over the summer but I thought it would look weird if I just asked her out after I hadn't seen her for like a year. I doubt she is gonna work there this year but she does live in my town and I still work with her best friend but I don't really talk to her friend that often. What should I do?

I suggest you start by adopted the motto, Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained. Believe that all will be fine if you ask her out, whether she says yes or no. She will likely be flattered you asked.
Try talking to her friend and find out what you all have in common. Maybe you could do something in a group first, then go for the more private date a bit later.
Music is usually an excellent topic that brings people together, and gets them talking about themselves and each other. Maybe you could send her a CD compilation you made of your favorite songs. My friends does that and writes a little something about each song and how it has meaning in his life. Everyone likes to get his CD compilations.
Good luck.
