Well for the classes that I hate I will look over notes and homework a couple days before a test, and then the night before I will go over and over everything. And when I get into class I will pull out my stuff and look over it again before the teacher comes in, so everything is fresh in my mind. I don't know if this will work for you but it usually works for me, there are some exceptions.

Well, I do this in every class, but read over the syllabus or first day handout that you get and see how the grading is done. Then do the very bare minimum in order to get a good grade. For something like geography, I would recommend getting flash cards since that's probably a lot of memorization...just memorize what you need to know for the tests, pass the test, then forget the stuff.

The lectures may be boring , but the subject never. Look around for ways to link the lessons to any part of your life, and soon you will find the subject fascinating. For example, in Geography if you are being taught about the Pampas of South America or the prairies of Canada, imagine yourself as a hiker lost in the broad canvass of grass lands, and then emerging safe and sound at the dege of it by setting your gaze at a lone landmark. It is always possible to find intelligent links. If not, you can take the help of imagination. GOOD LUCK!

For me, it is easier to somehow become interested or even to pretend it to myself -- than it is to read anything that does not engage me. I sort of look at the overview of the subject, and try to figure out why they think the subject is important or informative.

Then I try to find something about it that makes me a bit curious, and from that I can usually talk myself into at least an intellectual interest.

However, it did not work for physics class :-(
