For about 2 weeks now i have been have extreme hunger, ill eat a regular size meal and not even 2 hours later i feel like i hadnt eaten in days, i start to get nauseated and if i dont eat when i start to feel this i throw up sometimes. I have had really bad hotflashes which i dont know if that is part of it or not, and also the last time i threw up i had about 4 small drops of blood, but it also could have been acid too, im not sure. Im calling a doctor tomorrow but i wanted to see if anybody thought these symptoms sounded ligit....and i was wondering if i should tell my doctor what i think it is or would that be annoying trying to diagnose myself?? Thanks!

Your symptoms sound very legitimate. I wouldn't go into your doctor with a specific diagnosis in mind (or, if you do, at least be open to other explanations), but if you've noticed blood in your vomit, then it's likely an upper GI bleed of some kind, which as you have suspected may be an ulcer. Your young age, high stress level, and description of context definitely sound like GERD or some kind of peptic ulcer disease, but see your doctor and perhaps request an upper endoscopy in order to have a definitive diagnosis.

Get it checked-out immediately. A few years ago I came home vomiting blood. I collapsed on the floor and called an ambulance. If it had been an hour later I would have died. In all, I lost 13 pints of blood (which is more than you even have in your body) and had to have half of my stomach removed.

A bleeding ulcer can be extremely deadly. When an ulcer "perforates" (breaks through the stomach lining), the blood rushing in almost soothes the perforation. Most people don't even realize they are bleeding internally. When it is at the danger point, you may have extreme reactions in temperature. One moment you will be shivering cold, ten minutes later you will feel like your body is on fire.

Sleep well tonight. Even if it is a bleeding ulcer, it doesn't sound as if your symptoms are too advanced.

I would go see a gastroenterologist (GI doctor). It sound like you have an over-production of stomach acid. You might need a perscription strength antacid from your doctor. I would have him check you out though, it could be serious.
