Also-It's one infection after another. Seems like it never goes away. That's the thing that worries me.

Sex hurts too but my gyno says that could just be my uterus. In certain positions it feels like the penis is jabbed inside of me. I wonder if sex is contrubing to the infections. I only have one partner.

Could be a structural problem. Could be bad luck. Could be hygiene. Do you wipe front to back after voiding?? Pee right after sex?? Not drink enough fluids? Withhold urination instead of going when first signal comes?? Could be they don't find anything on tests, might need to go on low dose antibiotics for several months to prevent recurrent UTI/kidney problems. I seem to go in spurts. No infections for 3-4 years and then plagued by them. Cranberry juice works by making the walls of bladder slippery so bacteria can't attach, they get flushed out. I assume doctor does a culture and sensitivity and not just a urinalysis so he knows specifically what bacteria (usually E. coli) that he is treating to know what antibiotic will treat it. Do you have repeat tests after you finish the antibiotic to make sure it has cleared your system??

It could be lots of things. Kidney stones or it could be kidney reflux. where the valves closing off the ureters allow urine to flow back up into the kidneys. I've met several people with this condition. The doctors will help you figure that out.
For mild symptoms I take cranberry tablets and a heavy dose of echinacea and colloidal silver . The cranberry helps clear infection in the bladder and drives it out of the walls of the bladder where the bacteria tends to hide. The other two are natural antibiotics.
I take the echinacea at least four times a day. The cranberry and colloidal silver at least twice a day for two weeks.

Not good, but to see a doctor will help you find out. You might be getting these infection from a sex partner, anything toxic, or you not taking good care of infections when you get them.
The kidney test is very painful, I had it done. I cried from the injection for the kidney test. To find out the cause of the infection, you must have this test done. They might have new methods now, but just be prepared you would rather be safe than sorry, rather than to go on suffering with this pain, and not knowing.
Make sure you go with someone for support, might just test your urine, and schedule you an appointment for this exam if doctor finds you need it, don't worry just think positive, hopefully its nothing serious...

Try a health food store after you get this cleared up by Dr. they may have something, cut out the sugars, drink lots of distilled water,
If none of this helps may want to invest in going to a Chinese Doctor I'm sure they can help, using acupunture and detoxes,
most Dr. here will just give you pills which doesnt exactly cure you just fixes the problems for now til it comes back- you need to find the underlying causes, maybe you are diabetic ask to be tested for that too.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.
They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!
This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.
It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Try d-mannose, it helps lots of people with recurrent UTIs!
And sex does make you more likely to get a UTI, for sure.
