As a devout Catholic, I truly don't know the answer to this. I personally wouldn't wear the rosary. Maybe instead you could do some research on the brown scapular and figure out if this is something that you would wear instead. You could always buy a pocket rosary, a bracelt, or ring rosary to help you with saying the prayers for the rosary.

You really don't have to show your faith by wearing a rosary, but rather strive to live it to it's fullest, and stand firm in your beliefs as a Catholic. That imo is the best way to show your faith. With all of that said, it's up to you whether or not you want to wear the rosary.

*To those of you who believe that praying the rosary is considered vain repitition, please get some perspective. How many Catholics do you see vainly praying their rosaries. In vain, means that they would be doing it to get attention and praise. That is not what us Catholics do. I don't go out into public and start praying my rosary for the sake of praise. I do it in privacy b/c I want to be humble about it. Even with family rosaries and rosaries said in Church we don't go announcing to the whole world that we're about to pray. Please learn what the word vain means, b/c most Catholics strive and yearn to be the very opposite of what vain means.

Pure Christians from the New Testament NEVER wear rosaries..or even pray the rosary. it's a belief imposed by the catholic church upon believing that they have the authority over the Bible.

Matthew 6:5 "And when ye pray, ye shall not be as the hypocrites: for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men."

You dont need to wear rosary..it might misinterpreted by others that you are just showing off.

Matthew 6:7 "And in praying use not vain repetitions, as the Gentiles do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. 6:8 Be not therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him."

praying the rosary will require you to do the REPETITIOUS prayer which Jesus described as 'VAIN'. You dont need to memorize a prayer. There's a PATTERN in Matt 6:9-13 given to us by Jesus on how to talk to God through prayer.

They make rosary jewelry: rings, bracelets, necklaces etc that are made specifically to wear. Alot of English speaking cultures view wearing a rosary as improper but it is ok in Latin cultures. Most still don;t wear an actual rosary in the US because it is not a piece of fashion jewelry for "showing your faith" that is considered disrespectful by most, I would just buy a piece of rosary jewelry to wear, that will serve both purposes and no one will be offended.

Its not bad to wear your rosary . It would be more beneficial to wear the brown scapular of Carmel instead. Get one blessed by a Catholic priest and wear it under your clothes and around your shoulders. Pray the daily Rosary- at least five decades everyday.
Our Lady when She appeared to Lucia, Jacinta and Francisco in Fatima in 1917 asked us to say the daily Rosary and wear the brown scapular--- a great means of protecting us from the fires of hell.
This is a good website for any questions you may have:

God Bless and persevere in saying the daily Rosary.

Praying the rosary is good for your soul. However, it is not an ornament nor jewelry. Unless you are a nun or a monk, it should not be flaunted in public. Keep it in secret for what the Father knows in secret is better. Show your faith by your actions. Your pocket is the best place for it to be until you pray it in secret or with others.

many people with religious vocations wear their rosary. usually it hangs from their waist. It is their so that it is easy for them to use to pray. It is OK to wear a rosary, but it is not meant to be treated as jewelry. Also, people will expect you to act perfect when you wear it. So I suggest not to wear it, but rather get a small case to carry it around in. There are many other things you can wear to show your faith.

Not only it is bad to wear rosary. It is even BAD to use it.

Rosary were invented (patterned from the pagan's counter beads) to count prayers. Thus, its real term is "prayer counter". How can you wear then a "prayer counter"? To show people you doesn't know how to count? Well, unless you feel like a "shaolin monk". No offense, really. I only hope people would know the biblical doctrine about this.

GOD BLESS.....

If you can hang it from your rear view mirror, it's OK to wear.
