i have a 2006 Dodge Ram Quad Cab and i'd like to replace the factory speakers and radio with a good brand kind. Anyone have any suggestions. and also what size are the factory door speakers?(Front and back)
The reason i'm replacing all this because the whole system sounds real poor. i just want that deep clear bass sound when i turn the radio up, instead of that distorted cheap sound. Anyways, thanks if you can help.

well, if you want good sound stay out of Best Buy and Circut city. neither place sells anything that sounds good. go to a private shop and see if you can check out any of the following brands.

Boston Acoustics
Pioneer Premier
Image Dynamics
Diamond Audio
Kenwood Excelon
MB Quart

all of these brands are very good.

as far as head units, i'd go with a Pioneer Premier.

if you still dont like the sound your getting, then buy a small amp. 50x4 is really all you need. the differnce will be like night and day.

good luck

You can findout the size at Bestbuy or another audio shop. The best thing to do is replace the whole thing, deck and all. This way there is atleast 50, or 45 watts being pushed to the speakers that will more than likely be able to hadle something like 180. Sony makes a good inexpensive speaker, but is money is no object then get Rockford Fosgate or whatever you like. That is just my personal fave. Also make sure you put some dynomate in the door to stop a ton of vibration.

6x9's in the front door and up to 6.5" in the rear door according to crutchfield.com.get a headunit that has a lot of built in features like a bass boost,eq,3 sets of rca's and when you shop for speakers get ones that have a wide frequency range something like 30hz to 25000hz and ones that have a high sensitivity like around 92 db and up as long as the speakers have those specs you'll be ok

Pioneer Premier is a good company. Also Alpine, Sony, and JVC make pretty good stuff for car audio.
