Sorry, but your first line of defense is to see a dentist for a thorough cleaning and check up. After that, floss at least once a day and brush at least twice a day. To really be on top of your oral hygiene, you should floss and brush after every meal. Stick with toothpastes that have the ADA seal.

There are things you can do with a well-running car to maintain good working condition: change the oil, check belts and fluids, keep air pressure in tires, etc. But when the car has serious problems, you need a mechanic.

If you have neglected your mouth, it needs professional help. Go to a dentist, or be prepared to lose your teeth, it's as simple as that.

I'm wondering if you'd ask the same question if you were talking about your heart, prostrate, liver, or brain.

Teeth are not a do it yourself project. You must see a dentist twice a year if you don't want to lose your teeth. It's as simple as that. And you have to brush and floss twice a day.

Brush brush brush, floss twice a day, use hydrogen peroxide to rinse out your mouth after brushing; do not swallow any of it.

Go to the dentist and get checked out; really you do have to do this to know what is going on in your mouth
