If you have read and studied Islam and think it is for you. Then all you have to do is say your Shahada (in front of 2 witnesses) a declaration that " There is no Deity except Allah, and Muhammad is his last messenger" Once you have said that your a Muslim. But if you want more information and guidance and some witnesses provided for you then yes simply contact the Imam at your local Mosque. He will answer any questions you have and give you some guidance on what is required in Islam. Insha Allah you find all the answers you are looking for. Good luck.

I would advise you to go to the local mosque so the Imaam there can help you with the proclamation of faith. But in essence, a person is already a Muslim if he believes in the Oneness of Allah and the Holy Prophet Muhammad (swt). It is what inside the heart that counts..
p/s I'm so happy for you, dont wait..

It would be lovely to call you Brother! If you are serious, going to a Mosque is a good idea. Or call your local Muslim association and ask for the Imam.
This is not a commitment to be taken lightly but it is one that can leave you feeling darn good. I remember when I took mine I could not understand why all the sisters started crying!
The process itself is simplicity itself. It is called the Shahada and consists of saying in Arabic, "There is no God but Allah and Mohammed is His slave and Messenger" 3 times.
Before a witness is best but not necessary. What counts is that it is a covenant between you and Allah.
Islam is a lot to learn as you begin so it is best to study what will be expected of you first before committing yourself. You must begin to think in a more modest fashion, and avoid pork and alcohol. There are the 5 Salats a day which actually become like a break of spiritual refreshment after awhile. It is not meant to be hard and complicated. Islam, practiced as it was intended to be practiced, is simplicity itself.

These flashes should simplify a few things. Including the way to pray.
These guys at Ummah Films teach all about Islam but they leave you laughing as they do it.

The Final Prophet Muhammad said: "Whoever believes there is no god but God, alone without partner, that Muhammad is His messenger, that Jesus is messenger of God, and that Paradise and Hell are true, shall be received by God into Heaven."
all that is required of you to embrace Islam right
now as you are reading these lines is to pronounce the two confirmations and attestations of faith, here it is
I BEAR WITNESS THAT THERE IS NO GOD WORTHY OF WORSHIP EXCEPT ALLAH ( ARABIC WORD MEANS ONE GOD-THE CREATOR). AND I BEAR WITNESS THAT MUHAMMAD IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER. I BEAR WITNESS THAT JESUS IS HIS SERVANT AND MESSENGER.
With these few words, a person enters Islam in a matter of seconds. There is no need for baptism or priests, or even to go to a certain place such as a mosque or anywhere else.
please take a shower later it means you start new life with no sins Whatever bad deeds you have committed before, Allah will forgive because of your Islam.Becoming a Muslim is like starting a new life.
In Islam you will return to the pure, original, sinless state in which God created you. You will experience true freedom - the pure, direct, and exclusive worship of the One True God, free of any intermediaries between you and Him.
. You will find that you have entered a religion pure and clear, free of confusion and contradiction, with a preserved Book and a beautiful way of life. And in the hereafter, you will abide forever in peace, in gardens beneath which rivers flow
Allah says in the Qur'an, "Allah does not place a burden upon a soul beyond what it can bear" (al-Baqarah 2:286) the Prophet, Muhammed said; "… Allah did not send me to be harsh, or cause harm, but He sent me to teach and make things easy" 1-So if some Islam orders hard for you say in your heart i accept it and i do not reject it and when i get chance i will do it and ask Allah from your heart to forgive you .There are no intermediaries between mankind and God. If they sincerely repent to God, ask His forgiveness, and forsake their evil deeds before their hour comes then He shall forgive them and there is nothing more pleasing to Him than to forgive the sins of one who comes to Him in sincere repentance. 2- if you will face any problems by entering islam just keep islam in your heart and pray muslims prayers in your privacy, as much as you can. avoid as much as possible anything that is forbidden in Islam and learn Islam from authentic Islamic writings

Its good to do it at a masjid (mosque) but you dont have to.
Just get a few Muslims to witness your profession of faith and it will suffice.
Then say with full belief and sincerity, "ash hadu an la ilaha illa Allah wa ash hadu anna muhammadun rasul Allah" "I bear witness there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His Messenger"
And then take a bath.

Make sure you've really thought this one through. Once you have made your profession of faith before witnesses, if you change your mind, the punishment is death.
You might want to consider becoming a Mormon instead. You still can't change your mind, but the punishment is less severe. They'll probably just tie you up somewhere.
Edit: From the thumbs down, there at least 5 Muslims in this community that don't want you to know the truth. Even in liberal Muslims countries with US puppet rulers (Afghanistan) the death penalty exists for converting away from Islam.

I have no idea. There should be some websites on it. I found one that I am putting in sources. I hope it helps you. To those who answered rudely ignorant, every religion has extremists.
Does the word "Crusade" mean anything to you?
