Repeat:
*I burn easily - tanning booths and sun-bathing is out of the question
*I don't have much money to spend on tanning solutions. So don't give me brand-name expensive stuff.
*I am very VERY fair.
Please help?

Fair skin is gorgeous! Instead of focusing on changing the color of your skin, do your best to keep your skin healthy. Drink lots of water, eat right, get enough sleep, exercise. use lots of sunscreen. Play up your features. Do youhave dark hair or eyes? Great contrast to light skin! Please realise you do not have to be tan to be beautiful!! Light skin is so pretty and feminine and sexy!

Fair skin is beautiful! You should feel confident in your skin as it is...just use plenty of sunscreen!
I'm not sure if you're asking how to get a tan or not, but unless you're albino you can get a tan in a tanning bed. It is not out of the question. You have to start your minutes REALLY low!! Like 2-3 minutes your first time and do that for 2-3 tanning sessions, then very slowly increase the time you're in the bed. ie: move up to 4 minutes for 2 sessions, then up to 5 for 2 sessions...move up the minutes as long as you aren't pink from your last tan. A tan is your bodies natural deffense against the sun. Everyone can get a tan.
But honestly I think fair skin is so pretty, and healthy looking. I would look after your skin the best you can now ;)

I used to burn trying to go 15 minutes in the car. You can tan & should go tanning! I don't burn anymore because I went after a Dr. said it's better to go to a salon & build up your resistance than to keep burning constantly. The burning is what is harmful. I went to a local tanning booth & bought a package. They had me start out on the weakest machine for 5 minutes at a time, 3 days a week then eventually I built up. I never use a stronger machine. Now I can also go in for 20 minutes 2 yrs. later. I go once a month so I don't lose all the benefits. It's been 2 summers of not crying in pain from burning through my clothes even! No more worrying about how hot will I get trying to cover up. No more trying to wear only light colors for fear of burning. I was out in a tank top for 3 days during top 90's & no burn!! ( A bit pink for overnight ) If you truly don't want to burn anymore it took me nearly 30 yrs to try it & it was worth every penny!!!

you sound like my sister! Isnt it weird? we're complete opposites, in every way! She's jealous of my skin (and especailly my dark eyelashes), and i think her skin is unique and its beautifully clear! I'd say make the best of what you've got!!! Exacly, Nicole Kidman for instance, is so beautiful! Take awesome care of your skin. Always ALWAYS wear sunscreen and learn how to do your eye makeup very well. Make sure you use the right shade of blush. Concentrate on things like working out your body so the attention goes there..?! lol! oh, and why are tanning booths out of the question? if you go only for a couple (4!) minutes and slowly, slowly build it up, you should be fine. Thats what my sister does and ya it works except for the fact that she gets freckles everywhere, even on her body! good luck.
ps.) i dont know if u care, but guys care way more about the shape of your bod than the color of your skin.

I'm right with ya, girl! I have fair skin and I can't tan to save my life. But there are so many girls out there who would die to have our light skin (don't know why - ??). I guess we should all be thankful that we have healthy skin, if it is.

I say just find the colors and styles that compliment your unique self the most; once you start getting compliments from everyone, you'll start to feel good about it. Keep it clean and moist, and it will definitely be very pretty. Research it online and see what you find...;)

Hey, I am from the Philippines and most of the girls here would die to have a skin as fair as yours. Anyways, if you have very stubborn hard-to-get-tanned skin, you should just try and make it silky smooth and flawless. That way, you'll feel more confident having fair skin and would not have to bother about trying to tan it..=)

Fair skin is beautiful and rare. Look at Nicole Kidman. Do you think she would do anything to changte her beautiful fair skin? If you must, try a self-tanner like Jergins.
