There could be a number of reasons.
1. Taking amphetamines can block the feelings of being drunk - this may also contribute to why one doesn't feel the effects of a hangover.
2. when its that time of the month - For some reason it seems one has to drink a bit more in order to get drunk.
3. If you drink water in between drinks, this also helps. I use to do this because I hate not being in control of my my body and surroundings.
I have found over the years, I cannot drink as much as I use to, it seems the older you get your tolorance level goes down.
I think its great that you don't get obligerated like your friends. However, be careful not to over do it.
The alcohol still has to filter through your liver, which can cause some damage if excessive drinking continues over a number of years. This also depends on your age.
Additionally, drinking excessively can attribute to alcholoism.

Some people have an extreme tolerance to alcohol (the tolerance often wears off). It may be genetic and/or blood (circulation) related. But, no one has a stomach that's immune to it. You may not be getting drunk, but your stomach is getting destroyed. If the alcohol doesn't effect you, consider yourself lucky and stop drinking. It's costly and serves no purpose. I would also suggest discussing this with your doctor during your next checkup. I'd say CHEERS but that seems inappropriate... -Good Luck

The answer is simple: You are VERY Irish! Let's go out drinking sometime and I'll drink 'till you're drunk. -- j/k
It is possible that the alcohol tricks your mind into telling your body that you're sober, or either you're drinking yourself sober. Either way, be careful because no matter what you think, a breathalyzer test will say otherwise.

It depends on these basic things:
Your body weight
Rate of consumption
How much you've eaten
These are important, because the rate of "getting drunk" depends on how fast alcohol goes into your blood stream, and degree of drunkenness depends on how much alcohol is flowing in your bloodstream.
But, I have to say that some people have a very high tolerance to alcohol, especially when they are experienced with it.
Be careful though, alcohol is very dangerous.

i agree on most of it. you have a very high tolerance to alcohal. that can be a bad thing though cause your blood alcohal level is still way off the charts and your breathelizer will come back as drunk. just take a cab even though you know you feel ok. i have the same thing well i used to i stopped drinking.

i believe you have a high tolerance with a speedy metabolism. these other answers which say you are lying are just naive sheltered people who probably dont have a clue as to how alcohol affects people differently. I have a friend who is like you most of the time but not always.

You are a robot, not human, no other way.
Is it possible to drink yourself sober?
Answer-----
Richard Marchewka, Keighley UK
I'm willing to try.
William Barrett, London NW10
Absolutely not. What'll eventually happen is a combination of vomiting/unconsciousness/coma/death.
