I normally follow a typical bedtime routine, sleeping between 10:30 and midnight and waking between 6:30 and 7:30 am. However, last night, I stayed out all night, not sleeping til 4:30 am, nearly 5am. This is very unusual for me...didn't stay up for any particular reason...just staying up late to spend time with friends. I thought I would sleep until noon, but I couldn't sleep in. I woke up at 9am. When I got up, I was very dizzy, even though I was alert. I felt weird and off-balance, like I were drunk. I should add that I only drank one beer the evening before, ate normally and I'm not on medication. What would cause me to be dizzy like that? I couldn't keep my balance straight for about 2 hours. Everything was spinning.

could be dehydration, but most likely it's just a stress response brought on by lack of sleep. it's common to feel that way the next day, but if it persists after you've had a good night's sleep the next day, go to a doctor.

Headaches and dizziness are part of pregnancy, so the docs and nurses are right there. Make sure you're staying hydrated, taking you tylenol, and eating several small meals a day. Even eat something before you get out of bed in the morning (keep graham crackers or something on your nightstand). Also, don't move too fast - you're going to have to move slowly. Many preggie women have this issue, so you'll see a lot of them getting up and moving slowly. Nothing wrong with it. Hang in there!

Uh, lack of sleep? It happens, your brain is used to a set number of hours of relaxation, you told it nope, no relaxing you have to function. It didn't wanna and was telling you to go lay down. That's it in a nutshell. Either that or it's a tumor.

your body didnt get the required sleep that it needs to focus right. you changed up the routine but your body didnt get the message it was supposed to sleep in to make up for it. it is normal if you have been on the same routine most of your life
