What terrible answers thus far! I'm sorry for that!
The best place to start is with the Pom breed parent club.
http://americanpomeranianclub.org/ Read as many links as you can. This will help prepare you for a Pom and tell you where to start your search.
Also, consider rescue: http://www.petfinder.com and http://www.americanpomeranianclub.org/rescue_contacts.htm Some fantastic dogs come through rescue!
If you decide you want a purebred puppy, please be sure to read http://www.geocities.com/bluegracepwd/wheretobuy.html and http://dogplay.com/GettingDog/index.html to help you find responsible breeders.
Remember, pet shops, newspaper ads, internet ads, and yard signs are the WORST places to look for dogs. They are usually poor quality badly bred dogs from people who care only about money. AVOID them at all costs.
Good luck to you in your search! : )

It depends on where you live. If you live by a lot of farm land, chances are that there are a lot of breeders around. If you live by a city, then chances are you have to go to a pet store. A breeder will be less expensive than a pet store. Check your local newspaper or the internet for breeders in your area. I bought my pom from a pet store for $1100.00. Later, I looked in the paper and breeders had some ranging from $300 to $500. What ever you decide to do, try to find a breeder or store that can offer you at least a three generation pedigree. The more generations the better. A pedigree will tell you the colors, markings and champion status of the dogs in your pet's family. Good Luck, and shop around.

one of the best places to find a new family member would be
www.petfinder.com
you can put in your zip code and search for the specific breed you want. Please don't go to a pet store or a breeder because there are wonderful pets who are in need of a home in the shelters or rescue groups!
DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER PETS DIE!!!
