Would God have had to destroy Sodom and Gamorrah if those angels hadn't been so damned gay-sexy? Why didn't he send ugly angels with acne problems, receding hairlines, hunchbacks and lazy eyes? Between this and the talking snake he made intelligent enough to outsmart eve, it seems as though our omnipotent god sets us up to fail.......Agree?

The people of Sodom would have been turned on by anything. People back then weren't all that good looking anyway. No crest. No Right Guard. Must have been rough. And as for the Eve comment. We are imperfect creatures therefore we are bound to mess up. Lucifer is a powerful being and could easily deceived Eve. But compared to God, he's nothing. When its all said and done all the people burning in Hell or are going to look at Satan and say, "Is this it!!!? Is this the one who made the people tremble?"

The story of Lot and those angels is a terrible one. He threw his two virgin daughters out there and told the crowd to do whatever they wanted to them, just stop banging on the door! I don't know about those Sodomites, but I've seen an angel and they are not sexy. The two I saw could have obliterated me with a thought. I stood very still and looked them right in the eye (they only had one apiece like a cyclops) and they decided I wasn't worth killing. Lucky me.

Lucifer is described as being quite beautiful (before the Fall). It's very traditional to portray angels as beautiful, but God could doubtless make an angel who looked like Rosie O'Donnell's uglier cousin if He wanted to. As for tradition, I have a number of holy cards portraying the archangels as being very beautiful and rather surprisingly androgynous. Gabriel, in particular, is often portrayed as having somewhat feminine features. As a kid, I used to wonder why that was.

I don't think angels ever assume a "sexy" apearance, except in instances in which it will help them to deliver the message they are sent to deliver. They can assume human form, yes, but I imagine that it is with an open, cheerful, loving aspect. If they had come as ugly people, I doubt anyone would ever have bothered to listen to them. Can you imagine if Gabriel had come to Mary in the guise of an ugly old troll with warts on his face? She would have never given him the time of day. Instead, he comes as a brilliant light being. However, to test the Sodomites, I suppose they would have had to be at least ordinary-looking, for Lot to have opened his door to them. No one wants to let in a suspicious, beady-eyed wacko who's talking to himself in plurals...

The angels are not physically desirable. They are very powerful and awesome creatures. They can take the form of a normal human being when necessary.The men of Sodom and Gomorrah were lustful,evil men who would have wanted them if the were fat and ugly men.

Term "Angels" means messengers and they are spiritual beings. Although the Church has considered some angels having physical body (although different than a material body), angels are not subjects to the natural laws of this world.
"Physically desirable" is a very conditional term. For example, smart people are physically desirable to me, although some of them may have an ugly appearance. :)

Angels are beautiful because everything in heaven is beautiful. The bible even says Lucifer was beautiful before he fell. Then he uglied up.
I'm pretty sure that snake didn't talk until he was possessed by satan.

Yes.
Satan drew 1/3 of heaven because of his beauty.
Which is weird, because, strangely, I sure hope I never turn gay like that.
But if he can turn angels which are more powerful than us, women & men alike, towards him, what chance do we have?
Is there a limit to beauty? I mean, someone can only be but just so beautiful, right?
