Sometimes when I drag an icon to the Internet Explorer 7 Links toolbar - an icon is there. For example EBay has its logo there, MyYahoo has a logo. But the San Francisco Giants link just has has the generic white page icon withthe blue IE "e" on it. Why the difference and how do I add an icon of my choosing to those links? Thanks.

This is an icon that the site owners put up.
Its called a favicon.ico
basically its a small icon file that needs to have that particular name and needs to reside in the root folder of a website.
It also needs to be referenced in the actual header info of the page you are visiting/bookmarking.
Every time a site is book marked the browser will try to use that icon to show it in your bookmark lists. The icon should also show in the URL when you visit a site.
If no favicon is available it will use the generic icon from IE. If you search form favicon you will get a boatload of answers :-)

One thing you cannot do is change it though :-)

Depends on the coding on the web page.. If the website has a logo written in the source code, it will be displayed

it truly is called the speedy launch bar. in simple terms drag an icon down there. If that doesn't artwork (i'm no longer utilizing living house windows today, i visit't shop in ideas for particular, I shop my speedy launch empty except for teach pc), i imagine you are able to proper-click the speedy launch bar and click come across to open a window of the folder the position all of those shortcuts definitely are. then you definitely can in simple terms replica any shortcut into this Folder. i be conscious of that (do you may opt to then get rid of IE) that you'll proper click any icon in the speedy launch bar and click get rid of to get rid of it.

I believe that is code written into the webpage. Nothing you can do to change that from your end.
