No. American isn't a Christian Nation.

And I'm sick and tired of many people saying America's foundations were based on Christianity. America's founding fathers, some were Christian, but a good majority of them were Deists.

First off, though, it depends what you mean by "Christian." I am to assume you're talking about "True Christians", or Christians that ACTUALLY follow the Bible and try hard not to Sin, etc.

Therefore, a good many "christians" are hypocrites, murderers, do not know the Bible, etc. Also, Dawkins's theory of Meme, I find rather accurate. Many children in America follow their parents' religion blindly without questioning the faith or anything else.

Yes, according to a poll in 2005 or some date like that, I believe like 70% of America was "Christian", but when you think logically and realistically, that's not the case.

It should also be mentioned that we are one of the most ethnically diverse nations in the world.

The founding fathers were deists.

People who say that our country was founded on biblical laws have never done any research on religion out side of their own.

Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is something you cannot find in the bible. It was a LIBERAL idea at the time and was influenced by John Locke. John Locke was a deist who wrote about Life, Liberty and the pursuit of property. Our basic laws (ie against stealing, murdering, ect.) are not only Christian ideas but are echoed from other religions around the world. The ten commandments are not as original as you might think they are.

I often hear conservatives whining about liberals destroying America. America was founded on liberal principles. Also stop saying that there is a conservative vs liberal war, because there isn't. The whole idea of America is to have checks and balances on our government and ideas. If you have a completely conservative or liberal country our basic freedoms and rights will be trampled completely.

America was founded on religious freedom, but the majority of the founders were Christians; only a few were deists.
Currently I would say America is not a Christian nation; most professing Christians seem to be Christian only on Sunday.

No America is not a Christian nation. It never was. The majority of our founding fathers were Christian but they didn't institute Christianity as the only religion allowed as other countries of the time did. They did believe, however, in following the example of the teachings of the Bible for personal moral conduct.

Our Country was founded on Christian principles. Those who came here came to practice Christianity. Children were taught to read so that they could read the Bible. A lot of our laws are based on Biblical law!
