Then how can you say to compromise when it comes to your brother's salvation? If you believe and follow the laws of Jesus Christ, it is not written that it is your duty to lead the lost to Christ.

I didnt say that you had to be disresectful... but...

Let me dig-deeper, if you are a Christian and you believe in Jesus Christ and follow His instructions, how can you NOT be closed- minded? Yeah, I said it.

If you believe you must be close-minded... You cant beleive in God and still be open minded about there 'possibly' not being a God, right?

I

Jayson: I too am closed-minded. I am always open to read and research and discover. But my faith has caused me to be closed-minded... and just as you have said "so be it!"

I am closed minded to many things. I'm closed minded that 4 is the only correct answer to what is 2+2. My mind is closed. the only answer I accept as true and correct is 4. I am closed minded that the only way of salvation is through Jesus Christ. There is no other way. Why entertain other answers when you know they are false? Are you closed minded to the truth that the earth is round and not flat? Why would you believe it's flat when you know it's round? It's the same way with believing in Jesus. Why should a person believe in something untrue? Something other than Jesus is untrue.

I didn't understand what your first questions about salvation and leading the lost but I do understand your thoughts on being closed minded. A close-minded Christian, when it comes to your question, is being stubborn and ignorant. Christians have to have "boundaries" but not closed-mind. Im open-minded to anyones opinion even If I disagree because I have to respect what you believe in, out of love, but also have to imply that there's is another way to think in belief. Jesus was uncompromising but he never showed anger or resentfulness to others. He would tell people in parables, those who believed and disbelieved, to relate and magnify the Word of God out of love. So believing in Christ has nothing to do with being closed-minded although there are so called Christians who believe that their belief is right excluding others shamefully with arrogance. But speaking for myself, Im not a blaming Christian. Im here to help you with having a relationship with the Father, not a religion.

As a Christian, I have great faith that there is a God. There's experiences in my life that have confirmed it, and nothing will ever take away from that.

In a way, yes it has caused me to be closed minded to those ideas that there isn't a God.

But I respect other people with their religion or lack thereof. My best friends are sometimes Muslim, agnostic, or sometimes atheist. Just because I don't believe in the same things they do, I don't disrespect them.

It would be agaisnt Jesus Christ' laws, and against my own heart, to be disrespectful to others.

The Bible does say that Christians are to pray for and try to lead others to Him. We want the 'lost' to find Jesus and know the joy and peace we have in knowing our sins are forgiven. We are often accused of being closed minded for not agreeing with things going on this world and believing the Jesus is the only way to Heaven.

I'm not getting your question. Are you asking if we are supposed to be open minded about there not being a God because we believe there's a God? If you are...that doesn't really apply...following his instructions means that we treat everyone with unconditional love regardless of what they believe. Not that we change our beliefs.

That is our duty, to share God's unconditional love to everyone so that they see His amazing generosity. Also, being close-minded...? Where does it say we have to be open-minded and that being open-minded is a Christian requirement?

Sorry but your oxy-moron isn't oxy it's just _ _ _ _ _.

I believe Jesus Christ is my savior,I believe in God.I believe I have a duty to tell others about Jesus.Wit my mind in full control,an open I believe in God the Father.
Only people with a closed mind will not see and understand the reality of Jesus.
God gave us a mind to serve Him,when we do not believe ,then our mind are closed.<><

If you would read about the lives of famous Christians, such as St Augustine, you will find that they have all had moments of doubt. This appears to be normal in the life of a Christian. However when these periods of doubt have passed, their faith is stronger.

A Christian is by definition closed minded. We believe all of the statements set forth in the Nicene Creed, no if ands of buts.

If desiring something to an extreme is close-minded then I’m guilty. Close-minded sounds so negative but there is truth to it. I as a Christian am finding that as I grow closer to God, I desire other things less and less because they do not mater as much anymore. As a result, I am becoming close-minded to those things.

Nope, I never said I was a christian. And to answer your other question, christianity in modern times is severely contradicting, say one thing, mean another, confuse everyone, mutter nonsense, be close minded, fear everything that doesnt comply with the illogical teachings.

I believe in a god, one that I made up, but not the bible.

It's only my duty to tell them about my faith. If they choose to accept it or not is their Free Will. It's NOT my job to try to drag them kicking and screaming to the altar for Baptism. God wants us all to follow him of our own free will. We can't covert the unfaithful by forcing them, or demeaning their intelligence. If they are going to be converted, it's going to be by us simply showing them the love of Christ. We aren't to judge them. We are only suppose to love them as we love all of God's children, we're suppose to pray form, and tolerate their differences.

The last thing I am is close minded. I never have been. Quite the contrary. I've sometimes been known to be a bit TOO open minded. God gave me a brain to think with, and I'm not afraid to use it. He wants me to expand it, and to grow and learn. He wants us to discover all the wonders He created, and learn to how to protect those wonders. We HAVE to be open minded.
