Is an adulterous relationship really worth saving. Sometimes we want to save things that aren't part of God's providence (in other words, His sovereign will). Free will is rubbish according to scripture; but, even with free will it would take BOTH spouses commitment to save the marriage, not just the one.
Prayers are always answered if we are indeed Christians..the problem is many people just don't like the answer. That a prayer is answered doesn't mean that you always get what you want. even a parent tells a child they dearly love , no to many requests. that is what faith is...reliance on a sovereign God that has our best interests at heart. Even sometimes we are punished (deservedly so) just as a child is chastened by his parents. If we cannot take our punishment like a little child and still love our Father, then what right have we to the promises of His kingdom. The reason the Lord told us to pray "your will be done" is so that we are ready to accept it (like decent children) when our Heavenly father says, no.
I almost lost my wife years ago due to my beliefs (threatened me with divorce etc).. It was only when I was willing to let her go in favor of what I knew to be the truth, that she began to come around (albeit slowly) to my way of thinking. the Lord works in ways that we don't always foresee..what was once my adversary has become an ally. It was the Lord and a steadfast commitment to the truth of His Word and His will that turned things around.
Here's one verse (of many) that kept me going when I thought
about just throwing in the towel and divorcing her myself...
(1Co 7:14) For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
(1Co 7:15) But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
(1Co 7:16) For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?

The reason things are not becoming nice and pretty is because SOMEONE HAD AN AFFAIR! It may be God's desire that we work things out but an affair leaves one person horribly wounded and not wanting to hear God tell them to get back together with the cheater. Scripture provides adultery as the one reason to leave a marriage relationship, and it is a very good reason.

God wants all marriages to work out. It's our own mistakes that screw it up. (After all, one of them willingly entered into the affair. God didn't tell them to have an affair) Then we cry to God "Fix it" But that marriage can only be saved if the spouse that was cheated on is willing to forgive the cheating spouse. They have a free will, too.

God does hear our prayer. We just must depend on him to answer, not when WE want- when HE knows the time is right. There must be a plan...like you said...only God knows WHY. He does not answer in the time frame or in the ways we always want..it is God's plan for us- not mans.

God does NOT interfere with our free will the partner having the affair is choosing of their own free will to do so and God will not violate the free will he gave them. God know the outcome and it might not be what he wanted or intended because it is what the person has chosen.

You are hurting .. and have been hurting for some time.
Like most problems, this is man made.
God feels the pain of people mistreating their bretheran.
God appeals to our conscience yet, we have to show the maturity of character to follow what we know is right - and not just what's right fo ME.
Good luck and God Bless

yes!!sometimes God ddnt answer our prayer, but you ddnt noticed he already answer our prayer in the different ways! we should ask our self why God let this happen or Why God did not give what you want for? maybe because he want us to be strong,he want us to be brave,he want us to believe in him,he want us to follow his words first, and he want us to change,to seek him to woship him..God wants to be a centerof our lives,he want us to become a better person,if we do all of this he never ignored us.

God is not some Santa Claus God that answers your every wish. God is sovereign, and is not manipulated. This is not to say that we should not pray. Jesus instructed us to pray, but he instructed us to pray that the will of the Father be done, and not that our own will be done.

Obviously prayer is a wireless application. It's open to faults like everything else. I'd say God has a slow server.
