Believe it or not, but in Indiana, if it were legal to have these weapons (I don't know if it is or not) you could legally hunt squirrels with them! That is how loosely the regulations for legal weapons to hunt squirrels is written.

I love the 80 mm recoiless... I had an opportunity to sight with one once (didn't get to shoot it though :-( But seeing it in action was still cool as hell. I'm not sure what the heck you would hunt with one... Elephant? In that case you would have to abide by the local hunting laws in whatever country you were hunting in... I don't believe we have an native herds in the US.

It is almost definately illegal. Even if it were legal, it would be very unethical. You would be destroying a lot of meat using a caliber that large... not to mention the safety issues involved with a round that damaging. It would go right through the game and keep on going. The answer to your question is that I believe it's illegal, and certainly a bad idea.

No. For 1, it's not legal for a civilian to have (I think). And 2, that's very unethical. We might as well just drop bombs on the game instead of enjoying the thrill of a fair chase hunt right?

Do you have any idea how big those guns are? Do you have any idea how big and heavy even the much smaller .50 BMG is???
None of those are 'hunting' rifles. How are you going to lug them around in the field??? The only people who say, "Use a .50 BMG, use a howitzer," have never even seen one much less fired one. Either that, or they have NEVER been hunting.

I prefer to use an A10 warthog with a 30mm gatling gun, then finish 'em off with a couple of AGM-65 Mavericks...
And that's just my groundhog load...
