My budgie Ocean has not been well for a little while. i took him to the vet on Friday (he had very wet poops that were an odd green colour, and extremely puffed chest, fluffing his feathers and sleeping allot, drinking ridiculous amounts, and not eating very well) The Vet said that he has Air Saculitis/Pneumonia. he is on antibiotics, (which are working) but I am wondering if there is anything else that I can do to help him get better.

he is drinking well, and staring to eat better. he seems perkier too ( which is good)

Thanks

When my bird was sick I warmed up one of those rice bags...fabric bags filled with rice...in the microwave and put it in his cage. I made sure it wasn't too warm and let him sit on it. He really liked it.

just keep him warm and keep water and food available.

Putting a warmed item in the cage is a good idea, just not too hot.

You might change the cage paper more often if hes pooping a lot. Maybe before and after school.

I certainly have 2 budgies to boot. I certainly have a male and woman. it might possibly no longer be so good in case you have 2 women persons in a cage because of the fact they do combat. yet, I certainly have an identical concern with my budgies. i've got had them for a year now, and that they get in undesirable moods only like people too. so certainly, the budgies play with one yet another and tug feathers, or while one budgie needs to be left on my own and the different needs to play, they'd combat and tug feathers in a greater angrily way. this leaves some feathers around, yet its extremely no longer something to be stricken approximately. my budgies do this each and each of the time, now and returned they even kick one yet another! budgies will do this humorous sort of kung fu strikes on one yet another to push the different budgie away. that is not any longer something to be stricken approximately. only save offering clean food and water each and on a daily basis, and save and eye on them. they'd desire to be ok. save and eye on them only in case nevertheless. :) desire this helped and good success!!!!!!

You can help him out by keeping his cage warm, with a heating pad set on low on top of his cage, and his cage wrapped in a towel or blanket. Make sure it doesn't get too hot (make sure that he isn't panting).

Or, you can put rice in a tube sock or nylon, and microwave it, and put it in his towel-wrapped cage for him to snuggle with.

Keep giving him his antibiotics and make sure he keeps eating and drinking. You can give him his most favorite foods so he'll eat more of them (millet?).

Good luck!
