find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories a day you need to maintain your weight. take 300-400calories off that number and thats how many you need to lose weight.
work out - cardio 4-6 times a week for 30-50min plus light weight weight training
8 glasses of water a day
5-8 servings of fruit and vegetables a day
instead of big meals eat 5-6 small meals a day (portion control)
no junk food, no bleached flower (e.g.white bread, pasta), no sodas
healthy is to lose 1-2 pounds a week, anything above that is comming back

Number 1 thing you can do is quit being so hard on yourself look at your name change it get a good attitude and I agree with the person below South Beach is good you get to eat like 5 or 6 times a day keeps your metabolism going wich burns calories! I did the diabetes diet wich is about the same as South Beach diet. But what I did first was quit kicking myself and understand what was happening to my body and what food is good and what a portion is. My health insurance paid for a 3 day school and they helped me for almost 1 year the education was the best it has stayed with me I weighed 203 in May of 2000 and 11-2000 I was down to 145 pounds for me at the time that was the goal! But my education taught me to keep eating the way I am eating and my body will catch up I way 133 pounds now for passed 6 years I still eat the exact 5 times a day and feel terrific!

Exercise everyday like jogging around the block
Skip meals. Eat 2 times per day than 3 times per day
Dont eat until you're full
Eat fruits at night if your hungry.
Drinks lots of water and stop all the fast food and chocolate.

Well the key is to eat a balanced meal and be very active with exercise or a sport while eating healthy. It's okay to have a good meal while being healthy. Exercise is important though. You need to be able to exercise to burn calories. The more calories you burn the faster your metabolism becomes.

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!

Grapefruit juice (the real thing) helps to burn fat but you still need to eat a healthy diet, do a minimum of 20 minutes of good cardio and excercise. Make sure you drink lots of water.
