Hello Sandra b...::

Both John the Baptist and Jesus started the Gospel message with the words "repent." Jesus said it this way in Matthew 4:17: "... Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

Repent means to be sorry for and forsake your sins. And the definition of sin is found in 1 John3:4: "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." That law is God's 10 commandments that Jesus said it would be easier for the world to be destroyed than change. Now you know you must confess and be sorry for.

When someone is born again, they will not gloat on their past failures, but will express remorse, may removing tatoos, denying prison sentenses, hiding information about their adultry, and so-on. This shows their values have changed and they want to live the heavenly lifestyle as a born again Christian.

By the way, the Bible says Jesus was slain from the foundation of the world. That does not mean we are justified before confessing our sins (see 1 John 1:9--we must confess), but means the plan of redemption was planned before sin entered our world. This can be seen in Adam receiving his bride through the wound in his side at creation. That pointed to Jesus' abdominal wound on the cross where His shed blood allowed Him to receive His bride, the church.

Perhaps you did not know that law has been changed by erring man--that also needs to be repented of. It is discussed in an online publication that is listed below.

Blessings and AGAPE love, One-Way

No, absolutely not. Your sin was forgiven before the foundation of the world and expressly 2000 years ago at the cross. But in order to Receive that forgiveness you must believe it. You must express that belief by accepting the Blood Sacrifice of Jesus.

If sin is a broken relationship with God, and forgiveness is an asking of God to renew that relationship, then you would have to know you have a broken relationship otherwise you would ask to get it fixed. You don't call a plumber if you don't have a broken pipe. You don't call 911 (or shouldn't) if you don't have an emergency. No one asks for forgivenes, a renewal of relationship, if they don't believe in sin, a broken relationship. Sinful acts are actions or deeds that flow out of, or are the fruit of , a broken relationship.

Commiting a sin knowing it is a sin then asking for forigivness is not the right way to go about asking forgivness, God forgives if you do sins without knowing if it is a sin or not, these days people abuse this, they belive in their mind they can do bad (sin) and get away with it b repenting and asking for forgivness, well they are totally mistaken and wrong, if one does sin but does not know but later realises its a sin and repents then one can be forigiven.

What is sin but missing the mark. In fact sin is an old archery term that means "missing the mark". Face it, we'd all be crap flinging tree dwellers if it were not for the mercy of God in giving us some laws that favor our existence and our gentle behavior. Can you imagine what things would be like here by now if we didn't have those restraints on our more beastial inclinations? Thank God we have evolved. Thank God that the present spate of beastiality in the world is about to come to an end.

Obviously if you do not believe you have sinned you cannot be forgiven. If you believe you have not sinned you have the sin of pride at the very least.

There is no sin... Thats an illusion created by humans. So in my opinion theres nothing to forgive, because nothing you do matters in the end, its a giant circle, or maybe a line that never ends.

To know Jesus,I mean really know Him you see that depravity that you are in,and long as Paul did to put off this earthly tabernacle full of sin pain and strife. And have a body fashioned as His,in glory and ressurection. Never again to be enslaved to sin and depravity.

Yes you have to recognize sin for what it is in order to repent and be forgiven.

Sure, one has to understand that they were born with a sinful nature and that they have sinned. We all have this nature and we all have sinned. Any of us can murder, lie, steal, commit adultery or fornication, gossip, or any other thing that hurts ourselves or someone else, which is what God calls sin.
