Most Christians believe that God sends people to hell for not believing in him, or at least allows them to be sent to hell. Supposedly God sent Jesus to Earth to sacrifice himself so that sin could be washed away and humanity could be saved............from God. Remember that it is God who sends nonbelievers to hell, or allows them to go to hell (he's all powerful). So why would God do this? Why would he sacrifice himself so that he could save humanity from himself?

Jesus=God: Ourselves, who God created. He is ultimately responsible for making us imperfect.

Doesn't make sense does it. I once posed this very same question to a devout catholic in my philosophy class, and I was came back with a barrage of bible verses that missed the point entirely. If God is as powerful as they believe, then every that goes wrong in the world is really God's fault. If God didn't want us to screw up, then he shouldn't have made us screw ups.

You have this all wrong my friend. I am not trying to be rude but your lack of understanding is the real problem here.

God doesn't SEND us to HELL. God created us, he loves us, so much so that the angels were, for lack of better terms (English sucks descriptively) jealous. Satan hates how much God loves us. He wanted to destroy us. So there it started. He deceived Gods creation. They are different beings than HUMAN. It was now a war for our souls.

Satans best lie he ever told was that he didn't exist. He does my friend and God sent his son to die and pay a debt we could not pay. Sin wasn't washed away so humanity could be saved, sin was won over. Sin was beaten. Sin couldn't win any longer. God doesn't allow us to go to hell, we choose to go to hell. God doesn't want us to, we choose to. Satan is trying to take as many with him as he can because his days are numbered. Just because God doesn't do this within a few years doesn't mean he isn't all powerful. He is actually full of grace, he isn't returning until ALL have heard the good news. Until EVERY human BEING has had the chance to hear, he will not return to throw Satan in the fiery pit. Glory be to God in the highest. He is giving you an opportunity right now, one more down and however many more to go. You choose to not listen and open your heart.

God Bless

The entire point of our existence is to understand God's nature and the difference between us and him. The brightness of his light can only be truly appreciated when we see it from darkness. He did this for His own glory, which is fine; because He's God...rank has it's priveledges and the Lord of Lords and King of Kings has that priveledge alone.
If I do something for my own glory and not His it's a sin; because, He's God, He's perfect and even if He wasn't He still makes the rules. It's like the a painting complaining about the way an artist painted him...just rather moot or pointless.

The great question is not why did He decide to pay the way for some (not all)...but rather why would He bother to save ANY of us...Isaiah knew this too:
Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.

Paul also was not a proud man...
Rom 7:24 O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death?

You mean, why couldn't God just forgive sin, instead of demanding justice?

I guess that the short answer would be that God wanted to show how seriously he takes sin. If God just forgave sin out of hand, it would give people the impression that sin was no big deal.

Well, since you obviously didn't like that answer, there is a more detailed discussion of your question at the link below. It is too long to post here:

===edit2==

The concept is not too hard to understand; God kind of painted himself into a corner by declaring to the universe that he was a God of justice, and that the penalty for sin was death. God had to keep his word, and at the same time, find a way to be merciful without looking like he was soft on sin.

I get the impression that no matter what anyone says here, no matter how logical or clever the explanation, you are going to give them the thumbs down anyway because it is not going to be what you want to hear. You want to be told that God does not punish sin.

It is not God Who Sends us to Hell. It is our ownselves who choose Hell by our constant sinning against Him.

"The wages of sin is death."-Romans 3:23

The Only One Strong Enough To Pay the Ultimate Sacrifice IS God Himself. That is why He Came Down from Heaven To Be our Messiah, & Suffer & Die for all our sins.

But, God Also Alone Rose from the Dead. Breaking the Bonds of death itself.

Eve sinned first and then Adam sinned. It is ultimately their fault that sin entered the world, not God's. A reason they had opportunity to sin (they're sin was rebellion/disobedience, as is all sin) was because God gave them 'free choice'. Without this free choice would we not be like robots, 'programmed' without true freedom? I think so.

The Word of God says, "But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honour because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone." (Hebrews 2:9) Elsewhere it says in scripture, "So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men. For as through the one man's disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous." (Romans 5:18-19)

God gave up His only Son to save humanity from their deserved judgement; the result of their personal sin. God sacrificed His only Son to save humanity FOR himself, FROM eternal separation from Himself.

Whatever hell is, it isn't where God is and I want to be where He is. So if His own loving sacrifice was necessary to remove my sin and secure my relationship with God, then I believe. Without the vicarious substitution of the Innocent One (Christ) to bear the penalty for sin, I am left to bear that penalty myself. Perhaps you assume God could instead just wink at sin rather than dealing with the horrible and tragic reality of evil justly.

God does not send people to hell for not believing in him.. people condemn themselves by sinnning and that falls short of the glory of a perfect righteous God and then they inherit the beneefits of sin which is death. God saves people from the wages of sin which is death by paying the price of death for those who accept the atonement he provided. God did not save man from God but from the consequences of sin which is death.

Absolutely beautiful question ! God Bless you ...For using your mind! the obvious answer is that Jesus (p.b.u.h) is not God! he is the messenger of God and thus God Sends through his messenger a second chance another opportunity And Guide. That our sins get washed away by Jesus (p.b.u.h) suffering in our name doesn't make sense in any way. are we even worth that ? most of us would not even sacrifice our lives for the holy prophet and yet he would for us? doesn't that make us higher than Prophet Jesus (p.b.u.h)? Serious Thinking Points. I know many wont agree with what i just wrote and have other explanations but common sense is common sense and facts are facts. God Bless you and don't give up! May God Guide you in your Quest for Truth, Knowledge & Justice!

As for the Friday to Sunday time line, alot of scholars and christians argue by contrast. No the place interior the gospels does it say jesus died on friday and became resurrected on sunday. As for god sacrificing himself, i do no longer think of you extremely comprehend the bible. God would not prefer to be a dictator, he needs us to %. devil rebelled against him, and took a million/3 of the angels with him. God is doing this to tutor as quickly as and for all he's familiar with ultimate. he isn't doing this for exciting, he's familiar with what's ultimate. Thats why the bible teaches us to be type to a minimum of one yet another, thats why it teaches against evil because of the fact its greater advantageous for us to stay this way. It became a sacrifice because of the fact he lived a human existence, a sinless human existence and became tortured ridiculed and crucified for us. 2,000 years later no longer something has replaced, the international nevertheless hates the lord. Peace be with you all, would you detect the convenience of the genuine lord. Peace
