What's a good pain medication that I can ask my Dentist to prescribe?

I have a hard time with vicodin (because of the asperin content) and tylonal 3 does nothing. Whats a good pain medication that my dentist can prescribe? I want something thats going to make me feel good. Can a dentist pescribe perkacet? or something better? Please help me.

I have to have my wisdom teeth pulled and Vicodin makes me sick to my stomach which only adds to the missery of pain. I am asking first so I know what to ask for from the dentist, because they just jump to conclusions when you ask them for something else. Labeling people as a drug addict. It's a shame that I can't openly talk to my physician with out them labeling me.

I'll hope that by, "feel good," you mean, "without pain," and not simply, "high as a kite."

Percocet and Vicodin both have acetaminophen in them and neither has aspirin, as others have told you.

Many people just don't get much relief from narcotics. If the Vicodin doesn't help you, you might make out better in a totally different class of drugs. The NSAID's work on pain in a totally different way than narcotics, so you might try them. The most available is ibuprofen, available in generic or as Advil, etc. Advil Liqui-Gels work the fastest. A prescription dose of ibuprofen would be 800 mg or 4 Advils. Most people can try this at home for 3 to 5 days without getting into trouble.

Hi there. Vicodin is hydrocodone and has no aspirin in it. It is combined with Tylenol All narcotics have the potential for stomach upset. Getting high aka "make me feel good" is not your dentist's goal. Pain relief is. If you divulge that you want pain medication to "make me feel good" he will not prescribe you anything strong. You will be labeled a drug seeker. All the opiates can be equated in strength depending on dosage. The more you take, the more it will take to get the same effect. Try not to abuse your pain medication. Percocet is used by some dentists. Just be careful with your words and intentions.

Dentists see drug seekers frequently and the know the signs to look for. People who say they can't take Vicodin or are allergic to codeine for example. They want something stronger.

If you are in pain, medications will help you. If you want to "feel good", try something that won't ruin your life.

PS: the other answer was correct - Vicodin does not contain aspirin.

Don't bother.Your dentist won't prescribe unless there is a good reason for it.There are other tings that will make you feel good.Try those.

well you can try 600/800 mg ibuprofin. demoral maybe but i dont think that works to well. id go with the ibuprofin if your going for pain relief. the dentist probably wont prescribe anything to much harder than vicodin. hydrocodone possibly.
