Don't you think that it says something about a person when they are capable of making the right decisions without the guidance of a superior being or a book to tell them what to do?

Thank you Mamabear, my point exactly.

Stahn, I don't think it's fair to say that Atheists are difficult and live in holes...do you?

They could just as easily say that you live on cloud 9.

I would have to say in my own personal experience, the most difficult person to deal with is the person who believes in God that finds out that I don't. End of story.

Now Juan, that's not a good Christian attitude is it?

Gypsy, I am NOT "bagging" anyone's spiritual beliefs.

I never have and I never will. Think a little more into the question before answering next time

I'm not so sure--at least not with regards to atheists vs. theists in general. Most theists do make the right decisions on their own, because even a believer cannot get guidance from a being that doesn't exist. They just don't realize that their "higher" power was entirely within themselves. Bibliolators like the Westborough Baptists and papolators like Tom Monaghan of Domino's Pizza are the exception, and says more about their stunted mentality than it does about the rest of us.

Of course atheists are capable of making right decisions. And all of us, atheists, Christians, and everybody else, are capable of making wrong decisions too.
The Christian view is not that we will never make a right decision without God. It is that to go without God is a wrong decision.
Also, the Christian acknowledges that he himself is not a "superior being", and so recoginizes his need for God's interference in his life. The atheist may think he doesn't need any outside help. A Christian would call that false pride. Like a person with a broken leg refusing help walking, refusing crutches, etc. He says: "Look, I have one good leg, and that's enough!"
The Christian claims that every human being has a broken leg, spiritually and morally. And so the Christian welcomes God's help.

well ..hmm. I am a christian lol it's my birthname actually! But I dont think atheists are "bad people" I just see them as people who have yet to find the light. I also understand how you would think we need a superior being to make decisions.
That is true...we DO NEED "THE superior being" in our lives at all time to guide us down a rightious path of holiness! Without God we would be like the millions of people who do things in thier lives...then hate themselves for it...everyone makes mistakes of course and everyone sometimes feel bad about things they've done....but the thing about Christians is that we have God to forgive us and tell us its ok to make mistakes...god gives us a chance to move on....we dont sulk and commit suicide because we cant forgive ourselves...god teaches us to...god loves ALL of us. including you...and that book we cant live without is the communication key that helps us understand, love, trust, and talk to God. ...Did I help at all?

its ok to make an informed decisions - i am not a christian but i think thats it is important not to bag other people's beliefes becuase that their beliefe may be all they have. By all means be an athiest or anything you want but please think twice about bagging other people's spiritual beliefes. As for Athesists being bad I dont think that any ones none beliefes or beliefes are bad.

I don't think that the average atheist is 'bad', and I don't think that the average person of any given religion is 'bad' either. Most people know right from wrong, whether they were brought up in a religion or not.

Of course Atheists have morals. God wrote them in our hearts. It is just that if you do not accept God's standard of moral law, then you are left with human opinions. : )

All good people do not go to heaven, all forgiven people go to heaven. : )

I don't think atheist are inherently bad any more than I think Christians are inherently good. Atheist are just people who have not yet decided to accept Jesus as their lord and savior and I have hope that someday they will.

They arent bad, they just dont understand. As I've said many times, we have to be patient with difficult people. If they dont want to know the truth, you cant force them to come out of their hole, they have to choose to come out and see it for themselves.
