Fertile Eggs
Fertile eggs are simply eggs that can be incubated and developed into chicks. They have often been thought of as being more nutritious than non-fertile eggs, but this is not the case. There is no difference in the nutrient value between the two. Fertile eggs have higher production costs so they are more expensive for the consumer and they also spoil more quickly than non-fertile eggs.

Sweetie,"Fertile" eggs simply means that a rooster has been around the laying hens.It does NOT mean there is a chick in the shell,as it takes the hen setting on the eggs in order for a chick to form. Also, they cannot be hatched. They cannot be placed in an incubator and hatched, and they cannot be placed under a hen and hatched.Once an egg is refrigerated it cant be hatched, that process is stopped.I do not understand why, they would be called fertile eggs. They cannot be used for hatching chicks. However, they have been fertilized by the rooster.I dont believe nutritionally there is any difference. They cant be hatched or anything. If you break it,it will not contain a baby chick.Good luck hun,and have a good day!!

No, it extremely is impossible to purchase fertile hen eggs from PetSmart! they might get broken and not dealt with very gently and not stored on the the perfect option temperature. in case you extremely need to purchase fertile hen eggs, in basic terms circulate to a farm that has a flock of hens and a minimum of one million hen and ask to purchase a number of their eggs. The eggs are fertile as long as a hen is there because of the fact he friends with the hens and subsequently fertilizes the eggs. wish this helped!

I'll bet it's a sales gimmick. "Fertile" merely means it has the capacity to reproduce. Roosters are allowed no where near egg farms!
Now, "FertilizED" eggs would mean a rooster's been around, and there's a chick in the shell. But you can't eat that, so I don't see why a store would sell it.
Like I said, I think they are trying to make the eggs sound more nutritious or something. Just make sure the eggs you buy are Grade AA or Grade A and you'll be fine!

It's a marketing campaign. It means absolutely nothing.
Think about it:
Something fertile means it is able to produce. An egg, by nature, cannot produce another egg.

You can eat them but sometimes you may not like what you find inside them but for the most part they are not much different than unfertilized eggs.
