I am a Christian and see nothing wrong with Homosexuals; I'm curious as to what the argument is about. Are there any verses DEFENDING how homosexuals are regular Christians? If I were to get into an argument with a Christian, how would I defend sexuality? I really need help!

Excuse me, I do not mean to scold you, but if you are a Christian, why do you not know what the word of God says on this subject, that it is a sin? Please take some time and read the first chapter of Romans. Read in the old testament about the story of Lot and how "vexed" he was with the filthy behavior of the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah. God destroyed those cities with burning sulphur from the sky, because of their immoral behavior!

We need to align ourselves with the word of God, not choose what we wish to have opinions about based on the culture of the day, and I mean that in all friendship.

Well I hate to be the bearer of bad news but there is no verses in the bible that are positive about this. With that being said I do want to point out that the same intolerance is used towards a whole list of actions.

Now does God care about sexuality?

Given the fact that there is scientific evidence to support the idea that homosexuality is a genetic issue then no God wouldn't care. I have personally spoken with numberous homosexuals both male and female and in all cases they each say the same thing. They never made a conscious choice to be attracted to this or that gender. It was simply that what they were attracted to happened to be the same gender.

Evidence of this behavior is also present in the animal kingdom. Homosexual behavior is not just a human matter. I would suspect that it is simply a part of life. Part of the natural cycle of things. Not everyone is going to think the same way, like the same things, eat the same foods. Such a world would be a very boring place.

The real issue is not what sexual desires a person has but how you treat that person. How you treat others is far more important then if you agree on God. Focus on being good to others reguardless of sexual orientation, skin color or religion.

The message of Jesus was love not hate. Don't let man twist his words into being a message of hate. Jesus didn't hate anyone he love everyone! Christians should really take that as their guide.

You're Christian, right? Just wanted to check....
You're not going to find not one verse in the bible that defends homosexuality. You will find a verse that calls the act an "abomination to God". Since you say you are a Christian, I'm not going to tell you where the verse is....Read the Bible and you'll find that particular verse and others that show how God feels about homosexuality, beastiality, and other sexually immoral acts.
By the way, I'm saying this without ANY malice towards you...I hope you can find a verse that helps you understand.

The Bible consistently tells us that homosexual activity is a sin (Genesis 19:1-13; Leviticus 18:22; Romans 1:26-27; 1 Corinthians 6:9). Romans 1:26-27 teaches specifically that homosexuality is a result of denying and disobeying God. When a person continues in sin and disbelief, the Bible tells us that God “gives them over” to even more wicked and depraved sin in order to show them the futility and hopelessness of life apart from God. 1 Corinthians 6:9 proclaims that homosexual “offenders” will not inherit the kingdom of God.

God does not create a person with homosexual desires. The Bible tells us that a person becomes a homosexual because of sin (Romans 1:24-27), and ultimately because of their own choice. A person may be born with a greater susceptibility to homosexuality, just as people are born with a tendency to violence and other sins. That does not excuse the person choosing to sin by giving into their sinful desires. If a person is born with a greater susceptibility to anger / rage, does that make it right for then to give into those desires? Of course not! The same is true for homosexuality.

However, the Bible does not describe homosexuality as a “greater” sin than any other. All sin is offensive to God. Homosexuality is just one of the many things listed in 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 that will keep a person from the kingdom of God. According to the Bible, God’s forgiveness is just as available to a homosexual as it is to an adulterer, idol worshipper, murderer, thief, etc. God also promises the strength for victory over sin, including homosexuality, to all those who will believe in Jesus Christ for their salvation (1 Corinthians 6:11; 2 Corinthians 5:17).

I wish I could quote the exact scripture that our pastor pointed out about this very subject...I know it stated that all the biggots, murderers, liars, fornicators,(homosexuals) cheaters, theives and drunkards will surely go to hell...and they will forever be bound by their wordly sins in hell. So sorry, but this is the truth of God's word...I pray that you will- through Christ our Lord find the truth and that you will be set free of your sins...I am not holier than though,We are all sinners- I just know that it is not God's way and he frowns upon this above most sins. As a true Christian you must surely feel convicted of this if you are asking. I know as you become more familiar w/ God's word that you will discover the truth and I hope you will find it in your heart to change your ways. I will seek out this exact scripture tonite and if I through God's will I do find it, I will post the truth. I do know that it is a "choice", and fine w/ me, I have nothing against homosexuals, I have friends and I would never try to disrespect someone, I felt compelled to state what I know is God's Truth. God bless you.

Its the sexual act that is the sin, just like premarital hetero sex. Sin is sin.

Some say they can't help being attracted to kids, its not a crime until they act upon it.

Same in Gods law, having sex before you are married is a sin, your orientation is irrelevant.

Homosexuality is another immoral act that has tainted the union between man and woman God created.

I wouldn't argue with you, I think homosexuals can be Christians just like someone living with their partner and are unwed having babies are Christians.

It is about Gods love for us. He loves homosexuals just the same as the rest of us sinners.

God Bless

Read the scriptures then use common sense.

We are here to balance our masculine and feminine sides.
This is an area of great difficulty for homosexuals but not impossible. If you sympathize with them they won't believe they need to change. This used to happen a lot more with alcoholics than it does now. When people quit sympathizing with alcoholics they can change. There is no AA for homosexuals yet because large amount of people sympathize with them that it is natural and they don't need to change to be healthy and happy. All this shall pass.

Don't waste time arguing with people when they've already got their minds made up. It will only degenerate into a circular argument or a shouting match. For most christians, homosexuality is wrong because the bible says so. That's where the discussion ends with them. Even god could not create a crowbar strong enough to pry open those minds.

i am in the same situation as you- i'm a Christian and while i could never understand being romantically attracted to someone of the same gender i accept that other people are and i have no problem with it. however, it is a difficult subject to argue. what i believe is that God creates everyone in a different way on purpose- some people He makes straight, others gay. i think the Bible has some good messages in it but you have to remember it was written thousands of years ago and translated into thousands of different languages, so trying to apply it directly and literally into our lives today does not always make sense. for example, it also says you should not trim the ends of your beard (Leviticus 19:27). finally, i believe it is not our place to judge others.

This is something of a paradox. See, many christians claim they don't have to live by the law any longer, that Jesus came to set them free from the law. But they still quote the verses in the old testament forbidding it (though they don't seem to think they should be killed anymore). It is just another example of how christians pick and choose the verses and sections of the bible that they want to follow and ignore the rest.
Oh, and no, there are no verses condoning homosexuality in the bible. If I remember correctly, it is not even mentioned in the new testament.

It is not the individuals themselves, it is their sin and yes the bible does say that a man is not to lay with another man, it is a perversion, it is a sin. Sex outside of marriage between a Man and a Woman is a sin. You have no argument for a sin being 'right' or 'OK'. You really do need help if you cannot see the sin that they commit. The bible also requires us to love the person for we are all sinners and fall short of the Glory of God. We do not however have to accept the sin it is even OK to hate the sin.
