There's a lot of information not being presented here regarding your problem with your wife's jealously. If the dog has a higher ranking in the house than your wife because of your feelings for the dog then you have a problem you need to deal with.

Sounds to me like your wife has some other issues going on and is using the dog as an excuse for what is really bothering her. Try talking to her and see if you can get her to open up about what is really wrong.
