My mother did have a viable pregnancy after she had her tubes tied, but she chose not to continue it. Just this year I had a co-worker give birth after having her tubal 6 years ago.

I also had the procedure done 4 yrs ago and have had the same feelings about twice now. I have been told that it is possible but usually ends in miscarriage as it is a tubal pregnancy. Whenever I have felt like that - especially when I was late I did the safe thing and got a pregnancy test. Although I can't (for medical reasons) have more children - whenever that test showed negativ, I am always just a little disappointed. Good Luck

overall failure rate in tubal sterilization is about 0.7%. failure rate is higher when it is done during hysterotomy or caesarean section, or vaginal route. It maybe due to fistula formation (pathway between the two ends) of spontaneous anastomosis (joining).
Risk of oectopic/ tubal pergnancy is higher (15-50%) in tubal sterilization.
Chances of getting pregnant after tying tubes is very very slim.
But, If you do get pregnant, if it is is uterine pregnancy, then it can continue successfully. Because the tubes maybe tied, but the organs and hormones flowing in your blood are all intact. So, the body responds normally to the change, like a normal pregnancy.
If it's ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy outside normal uterine cavity) , then continuation of pregnancy is very rare. It has lots of complications.

Yes! If you do In Vitro, like i did by the way, you are bypassing the tubes and the docs are placing the embryos right in the uterus and as long as your uterus is healthy, tubes are not necessary in carrying a baby to term. If that were so I wouldn't be 20 weeks pregnant now. I have a tubal blockage :)

Yes, it is unfortunately possible that you can get pregnant again even after you have gotten the surgery. You may want to take a test or talk to your doctor about it.

Yes, you could possibly be pregnant, although it is not likely.
If you are concerned, why not take a home pregnancy test?
