It's unfortunate that people think fast-food is even 'food'. I wish everyone would see: "Super Size Me", and READ: Fast Food Nation.(Don't bother with the movie) There are more books out there to inform the American Consumer about what's happening to our food supply, but you have to take the initiative and search them out. And it isn't just food sold to Micky D's either, it's also under wrap at your local Kroger, A&P, any major and minor food chain.
You are being systematically poisoned by a list of chemical food additives that stretch from here to the moon. Your meat is brimming with a chemical stew of steroids, growth-hormones, and antibiotics just to name a few. Fruits and veggies are no better after the monster Ag companies get done with them and all the chemical pesticides and fertilizers, and the crap thrown in for canning. Read the labels, and remember that there are 15k chemicals they DO NOT have to list but that they can add to your foods. It's legal.
Investigate for yourselves, but be prepared to uncover a nightmare. It's all about the money. Now, I'm only skimming the surface of this problem, it's something that's very involved, far reaching, and frightening. I hope many of you take the time to find out whats going on.
The good news is you don't have to be their slave, organic living is not that hard to do. Take your time and make the switch gradually and it won't be any more expensive than before. But, once you begin to understand what you're putting into your body, how bad the "food" is, you won't be able to eat it.

I agree with the person who said spaghetti that was the first answer that came to my mind because its cheap and very easy to make. The steak, potatoes, and a vegetable thing is also very popular but most americans cant afford steak. I mean for about $5 for spaghetti vs $20 for a family of 4 which would you choose on a budget? Im not saying every american family is poor, just a whole lot of them are.

I would say hamburgers and hot dogs. Disgusting I know but its very popular for barbecues and any type of casual get together because its cheap and most everybody will eat one or the other.
